Out of all of the TaleSpin poems I've written, and all those I've yet to write, I'm certain this one is my favorite. A tribute to my favorite character of all time, his faults, his virtues, everything that makes him what he is, and what he is, is the navigator.

Short of stature, giant spirit Heart of gold with so much in it A mind so quick that knows too much Can see, can hear, but fears to touch Is the Navigator Lived through the pain and fear to match Sweater worn with only one patch Wants to reach out, wants to believe Simply seeing those who decieve Cries the Navigator The others paths are all laid out the one to walk is filled with doubt to trip, to break, to find who's there the life that's open, gift to share Seeks the Navigator These boundless talents, kindness too If there's a problem, sees it through To have the pride, to take the fall Believing, caring, with it all Has the Navigator Face that is young, soul that's too old Standing, waiting, out in the cold Who's there to see? Who here can know? Something exists, something won't show Hides the Navigator Trusting, changing, faith marks the way Learning, trying, day after day Someone steps inside to mend it First to grasp and then defend it Guards the Navigator And here, the one who'll always see Looks past the mask, then sets you free Light that's home, forever waiting Family, participating For the Navigator I'll be the one to guide your way I'll hold you up, I'll always stay Life that's changed, ties are connecting More than what I was expecting "I'm the Navigator"
