Out of all of the TaleSpin poems I've written, and all those I've yet to write, I'm certain this one is my favorite. A tribute to my favorite character of all time, his faults, his virtues, everything that makes him what he is, and what he is, is the navigator.

Connection, Bond, the line that is drawn between some people, sometimes best unexplained Pain, tears, misunderstandings the tensions that threaten to break it But love lasts, love persists through storms, through anger through weaknesses of one against the other To hold the other up, to finish what they begin To know they complete all you leave They fill the empty places Of your heart, of your soul Combats the loneliness, No longer a half, but a whole. Not alone, but a part of something better Someone to hold you when you're grieving To believe in you, when all else fails Easy, it's not, this tie that binds For to care for another more than yourself Is to give up something, but it will never be missed Replaced by one who is your partner Who is all you wish to be This is true, this matters Let yourself care For to find another gift, precious beyond measure Is what it means to be here Though far apart, though bruised and torn It never breaks, only grows stronger Light over darkness, the future over the past Two over one
