Mega Man Ruby Spears: Robosaur Park

Reviewed: 04/10/2021

MEGAAAAAA CAAAAAAAVVVVVVEEEEEMMANNNN~!

So we continue on with April Sadism as Mega Man fights robot dinosaurs pre-Slash Man era and also Dr. Wily's plans of trying everyone into primates. Yeah, welcome to hell everyone! So, how does this episode fare? Let's rant on shall we...?!

Robosaur Park is written by Jeffrey Scott (Yes, that Jeffrey Scott who wrote Paradise Lost for TaleSpin that was WildCat's crowning moment of awesome) and directed by Katsumi Minoguchi. Since this is an Easter Sadism rant, there are no tributes.

Episode opens with a sky shot of robot dinosaurs drawn really poorly. I should note that Jeffrey Scott worte Paradise Lost for TaleSpin which featured dinosaurs and I don't think Robosaur Park is topping that episode in any way; so I hope I get a hideously hilarious episode that is fun and doesn't drain me of life. There is a robot guy who is doing the Steve Irwin gimmick really poorly as his Australian accent is really subdued and his name is Auto Raptor, which looks nothing like Auto from Mega Man 7 obviously. By the way, the DVD version of this episode had the park as Robosaro Park, which would have been better as a booking name; but whatever. The robot dinosaurs comes out and growl; scaring the customers away, which is not a good look. Also of note: This was a Jurassic Park parody released before the movie came out in the same sense that Bullethead Baloo was seen as a Rocketeer parody around the time both were released. Auto (or Otto, it's hard to tell what the canon name is since there aren't any good research notes on this episode) claims that everything's fine; which is a really bad sign right from the start. I should note that there is a SWANK red car featuring Dr. Light, Rush, Mega Man and Roll in said red car. So, on with the tour as all the denizens the show could animate get into the red cars and drive into the park via the gate. This is episode #5 and it already looks like a Ruby-Spears episode. I wonder if Hanho Heung-Up was involved since a lot of Ruby-Spears stuff is animated by the same team? Anyhow; Dr. Light built the robots, Auto/Otto designed them. Otto is humble about this since Dr. Light built the dinosaurs, because of course! Jump cut to a swamp as we get popping up from the swamp, the debut of Toad Man and HOLY CRAP, THAT SMILE~! He looks like he visited the Joker and the Joker sprayed him with laughing gas, but Toad Man no sold 80% of the gas. Again, the robot designs after Mega Man 1 were really flakey to say the least. Toad Man swims through the swamp and then goes over to the robot dinosaurs, opens the panels and pushes button. A signal that he is reprogramming them to have them turn on the babyfaces.

Toad Man (Terry Klassen) then has a remote control and proclaims that it's time to change their channel as he uses the remote control. The dinosaurs go into berserk mode as Toad Man walks back to the swamp saying that they are now on Dr. Wily's payroll. And he makes frog sounds, despite being called Toad Man; while toads do make sounds, it sounds nothing like Toad Man's. Toad Man dives into the swamp and calls them dumb dinos as we scene change to a closeup eye shot of Cut Man observing Otto/Auto...Screw this, I'm calling him Raptor because at least there is no confusion in his last name compared to his first name. So, the tour continues and one of the dinosaurs grabs Raptor and Dr. Light thinks this is so realistic. Remind me to never let Dr. Light watch professional wrestling, he would be in denial that it's a work. The denizens panic and flee their cars as Mega Man shoots one of them with his cannon while Roll jumps out of the car to take the other one as Mega Man calls this dinosaur taming. Leave it to the babyfaces to use violence as their first option and wonder why no one likes them. Roll invokes the vacuum cleaner of sucks to suck Raptor to safety as he hangs from a tree branch, and the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner arm is now yellow, for no reason. Dinosaur rampage ensues, exposing how utterly awful the animation actually is. Half of it looks goofy, and the other half looks fine as Mega Man makes the save on Dr. Light before a palm tree kills him, since we have to obey the no kill rule on this show, while at the same time, put the guys in situation where they could die like having Dr. Light appear way too close to the car before it exploded. Dr. Light is confused, the audience is not, but that's understandable. So, we get the SCOOBY DOO CHASE SEQUENCE THE ROBOSAUR EDITION to waste more time as Mega Man cares more about stopping them from doing anymore damage than they already have and then figure it out later. Rock taunts a dinosaur (and the colors are random, but that's par for the course at this point) and the dino's neck goes through the windshield and Rock climbs onto his neck.

Rock says that this takes care of him and the voice actor acted like he was literally reading a line and that's the signal for Rock to be flinged off the dinosaur. Ian Jame Corlett knew this was BS and gave it the acting it deserved. This is on level with Kath Soucie's acting of Daisy Duck when she said that Donald was causing an international incident. One of the denizens in the background likes similar to Mrs. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus. There are only two black people and only the male was shown here in full, neither spoke obviously. Rock is face down and then proclaims that this park is unsuitable for children, which is funny because there are moral guardian who think this show is unsuitable for everyone. I'm not one of them as we get the robot dinosaurs staring down the humans and three robots from a grassy hill. Oh, and here comes Cut Man, Guts Man and Proto Man to join in Toad Man in reprogramming the rest of the robots. Why? Toad Man was doing a good job hims....Oh wait, they need to come in because Cut Man is the comedy geek, silly. What a fool I am? Dr. Wily orders them to secure the area safe in his control room of course, lest he gets threatened with another Bouncing Cutter to the throat in the first episode. Wily might be a coward, but this sounds reasonable given how much of a joke Cut Man is going to be now. We get a montage of the robot masters reprogramming the robots as Cut Man orders them to extinct those humans, Guts Man slaps one in the thigh; but since this is WWE, it's all okay; and Proto Man tells one of them to watch out for Bambi. I realize Jeffrey Scott wrote episodes for Disney, but this is one reason why we has script clearance teams now. Legal would have a field day with this moment if it happened today. So, the dinosaur chase continues as one of them destroys a palm tree and it hits one of the car, full borne; but due to the no kill rule, the denizens have to no sell the shot and bail in various directions. People would look at that and say "That was fake"!

So, more panic as the babyfaces are surrounded and the triceratops headbutts Roll in the chest and she goes flying and takes a decent bump on the ground. Roll is pissed, Rush is biting the same dinosaur in the tail; and that was the one Guts Man reprogrammed as the gimmick for Guts Man and Rush is that Guts Man leg is bit by Rush in every episode. And Rush gets stomped and walked on by a dinosaur, getting flatter than my sex life. Rock is shooting and Dr. Light and Raptor are hiding behind rocks as Raptor insists that they head into the swamp as Rock and Roll follow them into the swamp and Toad Man cuts them off calling Mega Man a Mega Punk. Which in fact, fits the music theme perfectly, making that American Capcom exec look even worse in hindsight. Rock calls him a mechanical frog like the bigot that he is and so Toad Man taunts him and here comes Proto Man, Guts Man and Cut Man to surround them. Ooops! And then, Raptor turns on Dr. Light! I knew this would happen at some point, which makes my accusation of Sundowner from Ducktales being a heel worse in hindsight as well. The circle of life continues without heistation. Basically, he proclaims that humans should have gone extinct. Listen, if humans and dinosaurs were together and the humans are responsible, fine. Humans have done a lot of things wrong on this planet, making the dinosaurs extinct is not one of them. Violating the corpse is believable though. Also, Dr. Wily is supposed to be a human being, so you are kind of biting the hand that feeds you, Raptor. Wonder if Wily will notice that and kill Raptor? We'll see. To make matters worse, they make a lot of heat references; but Toad Man's weapon is called Acid Rain instead of Rain Flush.

Toad Man launches a missile into the air and it explodes to bring out acid rain that would make acid rain of today seem like a mild rash in comparison. It only seems to affect Mega Man though throughout this scene and his armor is supposed to be resistant to such things. No one else sells this, not the robot heels and neither Rush nor Roll. That is one massive logic break there, guys. Wily Machine RS arrives, so there's where Wily was as the heels all bail inside. Oh, and the Wily Machine is unaffected. Rock, Roll and Light go back to the wrecked car and Rock uses a metal plate as an umbrella and it doesn't get affected. Why?! And Rock's arm cannon is smoking despite being made of titanium. That ends the segment seven minutes in and this episode so far is exactly what I was expecting from the start when I did this Easter Sadism gig: botched animation, botched booking and hideously hilarious performances that hallow back to Ruby-Spears and Mister T for instance. Insane plots happen all the time even in good cartoons (Paradise Lost is one of those plots when you put ten seconds of thought into them); but it how you write them that matters. This is not one of Jeffrey's finest performances as a writer. The eyecatchers are the same as usual, even TaleSpin's eyecatchers had more varity.

After the commercial break, and I should point out that the acid rain also has lightning bolts; so Elec Man can be jealous and buried even further. So, Rock, Roll and Light are running while Rock is using the metal plate as a shield and Mega is no selling the acid now. I shake my head as I'm guessing Acid Flush is too close to a drug reference like the Acid Drop finisher in ECW (WWE changed the name of the finisher for Spike Dudley, despite not censoring it when they got the ECW video library. If Peacock has edited the name on their broadcasts, let me know.). The babyfaces hide behind the tree sans Rush, so he is written out by teleport, for the moment since we'll see Rush later, somehow. Oh, and the acid rain does eat at the palm trees. Is titanium codeword for paper and Mega Man was made out of it...Nah, couldn't be; that would make Cut Man look smart and we can't have that, no siree! Dr. Light's suggestion to end this: Just drain the swamp with one shot of the buster. That's exactly what Rock does and it changes the acid rain and destroys the cloud completely, making it safe, even though MEGA MAN AND A PALM LEAF were only affected. And literally ten seconds after Dr. Light declare it safe, in comes Rush to say nothing in okay in his own way and out pops more dinosaurs. Way to make Toad Man look really weak there, guys! So, Rush turns into Rush Jet; Rock, Roll and Light get on Rush and they fly into the sky and it just occured to me: Why not have Rush just fly the denizens away to a safe area? It just make the babyfaces look like heartless cranks. Dr. Light decides that Rock and Roll are ineffective against the dinosaurs; so it is time to call in the Robo Commandos via his Penny Gadget-equse watch as we head to Robo Commando headquarters as Dr. Light talks to the commander who looks like a bastardized version of X know that I think about it. Basically, Light wants all available units to go into the helicopters to go and fight the robots. The commander sells, everyone available runs into helicopters which looks like the inside of TARDIS and fly out of the base.

Zoom out to inside Wily Machine RS' cockpit as Dr. Wily is loving this because this is the plan he was expecting. He then turns on the Zoom-equse monitor to reveal the robot masters, Proto Man and Raptor as Raptor is loving life and Proto Man then asks the obvious: What is the real plan of this operation because apparently, dinosaurs causing chaos in town is not good enough as an actual plan, despite this actually working. Dr. Wily decides to let them in on the secret as they open up the ancient capsule to reveal a transparent capsule of purple liquid which Toad Man thinks it's frog blood. There are blood smears that are seen as purple; but the only difference between frog and human red blood cells are one has nuclei and one doesn't. The order I said that should answer which one is which and I'm not linking the site because people keep e-mailing me on this from those website in which I have no desire of writing back since I only used it as a reference point. Dr. Wily calls it a retro virus as it turns robots into mindless beasts. So in Rock, Blues and Roll's case, it turns them into primates. I wonder what effect it would have on robots and robot masters. And what are the odds that this is how Raptor is written out of this show? We'll see. So, we play butterfinger catch for a while, which Proto Man stops and insults them. Dr. Wily tells them that he's using the Robo Commandos as a host to spread the virus across the world. So, yes; this show has gaslit a generation into believing that virus are man-made and are spread by the military. The COVID-19 conspiracy theories comparisons to this are so uncanny at this point. So, we scene change to the park as the helicopters land and out come the Robo Commandos with laser guns and they subdue the dinosaurs within seconds with lasers and electric fences. Dr. Light and the robots watch on as this really makes the babyfaces look like dorks. Rock is pondering this over and thinking that this was too simple; causing Roll to blow him off because he's jealous that the Robo Commandos did a far better job than him. Ummm; Roll wasn't any better, so I wouldn't throw stones in glass houses there.

In comes Wily Machine RS as we head to the cockpit with the robot heels as Raptor puts the capsule of retro virus into a giant gun and fires it as it explodes into the dinosaurs and it has no effect, because they are well before the caveman, which is an excellent touch of detail. Sadly, they forgot to animate the fog effect of the poison in order to make this work and it doesn't take effect until after the RC leader salutes Dr. Light. Oh, and the robots turn into caveman, as it's now MEGA CAVEMAN~! He is more hairy and talks like a dumbass. Roll is just older and Rush looks bored. Dr. Light informs them that this is not good and we head back into the lab as Dr. Light is checking on Roll and has figured out that this is a retro virus as Roll asks him if there is anything he can do, only she talks slower. Dr.Light shows off a blue secrum which would slow down the effects of the computer virus, so this is clearly a emergency stop gap until he can find an actual antidote and vaccine. Rock wants Roll to have the secrum; but Roll insists Rock take it. This would have been more effective if Rock was on the table being examined instead of Roll. You don't have to change the dialogue and it would end up the same way. So, Rock takes the injection (without a needle mind you) and it shocks Rock, but it does turn him into his old self...for now anyway. So, the monitor turns on and we see the Robot Police Officer and a brown haired officer wearing a police uniform literally looking like a deer in the headlights. He has clearly never been on camera before. It's Unit 77 informing us that they have emergencies all over the city as denizens are running away in the background. We then see Guts Man riding on a dinosaur as he stomps on cars for a while and apparently, this renders the Robo Commanders helpless. WHAT?! And then in comes one of the RC's from a conveniently landed helicopter, who is retroized and he shoots a green beam at the Unit 77 Commander and looks dumb. So, Rock needs to go into battle while Dr. Light perfects an antidote, which seems reasonable.

Roll and Rush want to help despite being slow, but powerful and Mega Man accepts carte-blanche. Rock being the brains of this operation doesn't feel like the smartest plan in the world, but it's all they have at this point; so HUZZAH~! Rock, Roll and Rush exit the lab as we scene change to the dinosaurs attacking and the Robo Commando Leader (so, apparently; Wily cannot control Roll nor Rush) keeps shooting green poison beams to change trash robots into trash cave robots who throws trash can's away, one of them makes an eight year old boy in a yellow belly shirt with green shorts cry and he and his mother run away stage right. Bigots. So, all the human denizens flee in various direction as a jeep appears with Raptor proclaiming feeding time, so he wants to see humans killed and eaten. Logic break: Guts Man is now riding a different dinosaur than he was earlier. Why would you do that? Oh wait, it's because Cut Man will be riding the dinosaur Guts Man is on because he's high comedy. Of course! What a fool I am?! So, destruction, glass shattering, panicking and running away ensue. Cut Man destroys a bus with a dinosaur as Dr. Wily tells the robot master to secure the city while Raptor cheers for human death. Of course! Dr. Wily turns off his monitor and then admits that he was using Raptor to run wild while the Robo Commandos simply destroyed the city with the virus so he could control them for world domination and basically this is carny talk for Dr. Wily having Raptor dead at his earliest convenience because Raptor still doesn't think Dr. Wily is human and therefore Wily is okay. Gaslighting, everyone. We fade to black for a commercial break for Non-American audiences and then we return with Cut Man on a dinosaur and it's time for the next installment of CUTMAN IS INCOMPENTENT~! Roll, Rock and Rush are in an entrance way containing a box with a conveniently placed firehose as Rock opens the box and gives Rush Jet the firehose and he uses it to spin around and around to tie the hose around the dinosaur's ankles. Okay, that is not the worst thing about this.

The worst thing about this is: Cut Man calls Mega Man a Mega Jerk and proclaims that the dinosaur will rip the hose to shreds. Ummm, Cut Man? Did you look at the dinosaur arms before you made that statement? Yeah, the dinosaur arms are way too short to grab the hose. A human can do it because they are much shorter and thus the arms can extend towards the ground. You art an idiot! Guess what happens? Rock taunts him, Roll turns on the water and the water makes the dinosaur lose it's balance. The only way this could be worse for Cut Man is if he used the Rolling Cutter on the hose and that trips up the beast. Cut Man goes flying and does the Ron Tussien spot right in the passenger seat of Raptor's jeep. Raptor is in shock, so gravity and physics are not his strong suit at all. Rock then runs off to meet with Guts Man on the dinosaur that he wasn't supposed to be on and destroys everything, proving so far to be the most effective robot master of Wily's set. They make it to a trolly train as Rock slams the door on the dinosaur's tail and the dinosaur sells it like he's a real dinosaur. WHAT?! I should note that everyone is now calling him Mega, despite his civilian name is Rock, not like it matters anymore. Rock proclaims that the heels will be shipped out of state, which doesn't make this any better as Roll and Rush come in; and then they get the AeroStar Headache Message~ and turn into full cavebots, although Rush pushes the lever (JESUS~!) and they slowly come out. Rock panics as Guts Man raises the feet of the dinosaur to make manhole covers as we end the segment 15 minutes in. Jeffrey is trying so hard, but the hilarity is too much to overcome, and Rush's eyecatcher has appeared, whom was squashed flat earlier in the episode! How about that for continuity?!

After the commercial break; Rock dodges dinosaur and then has to dodge Roll and Rush from the train door because they are totally not human anymore, sadly. Oh, and Rock has to bail stage right because he's turning into a caveman since the secrum is wearing off, after literally five minutes of action! This is like Peppa Pig; only Peppa Pig episodes are four and a half minutes long, so they almost have to rush everything. This episode is 24 minutes long! Guts Man and Proto Man (who took over Cut Man's ride) chase after Rock for a while to kill time as Rock pushes the right yellow button on his arm cannon and then goes ass over tea kettle onto his back. And somehow, Dr. Light teleports in out of nowhere. WHAT?! Was there a scene that was supposed to be there and it was snipped for time? Because if so, it really exposed the business. So, Eddie (who is a green Met; but otherwise looks like Eddie) runs in and gives Rock an energy tank to drink; but the virus is countering it. Thankfully; Dr. Light has a larger capsule containing enough antidote for every robot and that's it. So, he forgot to make a backup; and Raptor comes in and takes it because this ruins his plans see. Dr. Light points out the obvious to us and this is what the heels want, Dr. Light! Why not ask Raptor if he thinks Dr. Wily is not a human and then blow his mind telling him that Dr. Wily is human and probably is scheming to kill Raptor when the deed is done?! The most obvious response and Dr. Light cares more about the robots. What a dork?! Cut Man wants to take the two prisoner which is reasonable; but Eddie counters with the SMOKE SODA POP CANS OF CANCER to make a smokescreen and the babyfaces all escape. This would have worked perfectly if Dr. Light stole the antidote back in the confusion; but he sucks, so he doesn't. Guts Man is not amused, but Proto Man don't care. Apparently, Rock will be a cave dweeb in less than an hour. Oh, and someone called them Nethanobots as well, cannot forget that insult. I'm sorry; but Dr. Wily is much funnier calling Rock a blue dweeb because it's so absurd for him to say that. Proto Man, not so much.

Scene change to Robosaur Park as all the cave robots and dinosaurs sans the blue dweeb enter the park; which is at least dozens of them, well the most the animators could animate at the time. Wily Machine RS touches down and out comes Dr. Wily as the heels all celebrate as Raptor calls this "our plan" and Dr. Wily say it in the form of a question. Memo to Raptor: When someone says "our plan" in the form of a question, he's going to turn on you. There are a vast amount of helicopters, commandos and ten barrels of retro virus, the prototype for the infamous "Evil Energy" gimmick in Mega Man 8 and the virus in Mega Man 10! Wow, this show was literally foreshadowing the brand's path to irrevelence at this point and no one at Capcom heeded this warning shot. Sad! Dr. Wily laughs as he wants to repopulate the world with cavebots and Proto Man gives him the antidote and Dr. Wily wants it destroyed and then decides not to. At least we're near the end, so the heel is supposed to be stupid in these show, but still come on now! Don't make it so obvious to us, okay?! So, Wily orders everyone to spray the virus on everyone, and Proto Man responds by saying: Whatever turns you on, Wily. I died when he said that. Piss on the mark, indeed! So, Proto Man bails and we get sequences of the cavebots and robot masters loading up the virus containers into the helicopter. And Mega Man cuts a promo running in and now he has a new catchphrase: Plasma Power~! Did the writers believe that the Mega Buster or the P in the game stood for plasma or power? No. It stood for player and Mega Buster became the norm in Mega Man 4. Personally, Mega Buster is cooler than Rock Buster and it also helps in Rock maintaining his privacy since his civilan name is Rock. So, Rock shoots around, which is stupid because there is retro virus everyone and it might cause even more chaos. Oh, and Toad Man is the one who has to dodge Rock's shots as we haven't seen him in a while. Second best RM next to Guts Man at this point. This somehow jars the antidote out of Wily's hands and Rock grabs it.

Wily panics and demands everyone get it. Get what, Wily? Your knink? No thanks! Cut Man uses Rolling Cutter and knocks the antidote out of Rock's hands and Raptor grabs it. Wait, Cut Man is not really incompentent? What world am I living in?! Raptor gets caught in a tire, somehow pushed by Dr. Light and Dr. Light gets the antidote back. Wow, Raptor looks dumber than Cut Man here even though the tire came out of nowhere for no reason. No setup, no nothing. Just existed. Thankfully, Guts Man ends this nonsense by causing an earthquake with his hand, opening up the earth. Dr. Light jumping skills suck so much that he gets triped up and the capsule rolls from his hand right at Dr. Wily's feet. There's a good reason why Dr. Wily loves Guts Man so much and this is a great example. Guts Man is so far, head and shoulders above everyone else on this show, even the babyfaces. And he's supposed to be the dumb one. Shake my head. Dr. Wily goes back into Wily Machine RS with the antidote and decides to destroy it in there while Rock and Light are left at the mercy of the robot masters. Wily Machine flies away as the robot masters taunt him as they make monkey jokes for a while, while Toad Man catches a fly with his tongue because he's a toad robot you see. Rock holds his head and finally turns into a caveman; but remember, there is still some time before he turns heel and there is less than two and a half minutes left in the episode. Rock falls down and then appears to be dead because Toad Man claims that the blue dweeb croaked, implying that he's dead. First the acid rain and now this. Rock is clearly a paper tiger in this show and that really sucks! Cave Rock gets up and Toad Man is in silence as I hear beats in the background similar to Blast Hornet's stage in Mega Man X3; as Rock grabs his hand and we get the wire frame of Rain Flush. The shape of the missile is different, but the general attack is the same. Rock proclaims that he will rain on Wily's parade and fires the Rain Flush into the air, the missile explodes and it rains on Wily Machine RS.

Now, remember earlier where only Rock and the palm trees were affected by the acid rain. Now Rock is unaffected and the Wily Machine RS is being eaten away by the acid. WHAT?! Wily Machine RS is swaying so violently that the antidote breaks through the windshield and falls down and it explodes into the rain cloud; causing it to rain and all the robots return to normal. Okay, the finish itself was good all things considered, but the setup was way too bad for me to take this seriously. Take to kick Robo Butt as Roll and Rush turn babyface for good as Rock dominates the robots as the grace period for Guts Man literally dies in this sequence as he is buried. Toad Man gets spirited away by Rock on a pterodactyl and dropped right on top of Proto Man; just to bury both of them, too. Dr. Wily brings out his catcher missiles, which has been redesigned to look less like Bullet Bills and they grab the robot heels as Cut Man looks literally dead. At least it was everyone getting destroyed and not just him. Well, except for Raptor who runs at Wily Machine RS as he protests this betrayal; but Dr. Wily blows him off and flies away with his robots. Okay, so the no kill rule was in effect, so shoot me. I was right about the turn though as Rush rushes Raptor who looks away, Rush invokes the BITE OF ASS into the ass of Raptor and Raptor oversells it and dunks into the swamp, where he belongs. Whatever, I'm don...Oh wait, we have to wrap up this cloud seeding mess (A Baloo Switcheroo did it better, I'm just saying) as Rush brings in a dinosaur egg with his nose. The egg hatches and reveals a baby dinosaur. Wow, Keiji was field testing for new robot themes with this show as the baby dinosaur roars, everyone panics. Except Rush runs away stage left as the dinosaur follows him to end the episode at 23:00 approx. Is every episode going to have Rush doing something stupid at the end of each one? If so, this is going to grow old...right now actually. Holy crap, this was awful and it felt literally like a lot of the bad R-S episodes out there. That is a bad sign for a cartoon with decent source material. This was ** 1/2 on the trainwreck scale for the faulty logic on the acid rain, Raptor being clueless (and basically an anthro dinosaur with human traits, few they were), foreshadowing the games future and Cut Man being Cut Man. That last one is par for the course, of course. * (20%).

THE REVIEW LINE

So; the quality as expected went down the crapper in this episode, and there were some hideously hilarious moments in this episode; which is what makes Easter Sadism fun anyway. Toad Man was really creepy; but he was decent outside of the fact that his Rain Flush really sucked here, mostly due to the logic being well over the place. Only THREE enties were affected by it and Mega Man was the only robot affected by the acid. That makes no sense, everyone should have been smoking at least. I can see Roll not getting it due to BS&P; but come on, now! You rendered Toad Man to be weak sauce. This also made the setup to the finish look so dorky and nonsensical. Guts Man, despite getting beat here, still is the strongest robot in the show over everyone. Raptor made Cut Man look smart here: How could he not notice Dr. Wily was going to turn on him. Dr. Wily is a human being for goodness sakes! And the whole plot looks like a COVID-19 conspiracy come to life, only written by people who weren't trying to conspire against us and just look stupid. And all the good stuff that made the first episode of Mega Man decent are now gone. Anime sequences are gone (although the weapon wireframe is still intact), Rock is now called Mega which is now used in modern games like Mega Man Powered Up and Mega Man 11 for some reason, Mega now has a catchphrase that makes no sense, and everyone was beaten with the stupid stick more times than it was healthy. And it's going to get worse, especially from episode #14 onward (this was episode #5 on the animation paper). Overall; this was a hideously hilarious trainwreck of an episode, which is better than a hideously gruesome trainwreck, albeit not by much. So...

Thumbs down for this episode and I'll see you all next time.
