Nintendo Switch Sales Report

Sources are from Nintendo's internal figures as of December 31st, 2023 and for some updated figures, the CESA White Papers for 2022 as of December 31st, 2022. (Context: Nintendo Switch is roughly 6 3/4 Years old at this point.):

Switch hardware has sold 139.36 million units globally, surpassing
Gameboy/Gameboy Color combination and PlayStation 4 for third place
overall.
- In Japan, Nintendo Switch officially surpassed
Gameboy/Gameboy Color combination and Nintendo DS for highest selling
system at 33.34 million units.
- Switch is the second fastest
selling system to surpass 100 million units in hardware and the only
the second to pull off the feat within five years, only Nintendo DS
pull it off faster by roughly six months. Due to the hybrid nature of
the system, this also means Switch is the first console to pull off
the feat within five years.
- Switch has 1.20 billion units of
software. This surpasses Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360
for third place overall. Switch does not include download only games.
(Context:
Nintendo
only counts physical only and games that offer the choice of buying
physical or digital. Sony DOES count download only games for
PlayStation 4 and Playstation 5. Thank to Paul Gale Network for

- There are 94 known one
million unit sellers on Switch, most among Nintendo platforms and
