Twenty Years Of Muddy Puddles: Peppa Pig Series Nine #2 Rant
Reviewed: 09/01/2025
The Third Child Has Finally Arrived!
Okay fans; I have now decided to rant on this series full time, because I do in fact like this show enough that I can handle the best and worst of the Pig family from Great Britian. Time to resume Peppa Pig as this is officially the ninth series in the last twenty years or so. YAY! Or maybe not! Anyhow, we continue Series Nine with nine episodes this time: We get a three parter of the build to a brand new house, then they buy the new car, sew a new quilt/blanket for the new baby, the kids go to a sibling school taught by Miss Rabbit (Job #WHY?!) and then we end in a three parter with the new baby finally arriving. YAY! How do these episodes fare?! Let's rant on shall we..?!
All the episodes are done by Phil Hall with select episodes done by Matilda Tristam, Seyi Odusanya, Maris P., Ishai Ravid, Moya O'Shea and Jen Upton. Animation is done by Karrot animation.
Opening Moment #1: Brand new opening sequence with remixed opening theme music. The major difference is that the family literally comes out of their house instead of Peppa just jumping down from the logo. It's the same introduction otherwise, outside of Mummy Pig having her bump. I suspect this will change over time since the next six episodes features all the big changes coming before the baby's arrival.
Bigger House: This episode is #434 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the little house on the hill as Peppa announces the title card, the narrator talks as we zoom into the bedroom as George is annoying Peppa with Mr. Dinesaur because Peppa is having a tea party. HAHA! Wonderful time indeed, for me and George at least. Peppa Pig, not so much. Peppa finally declares that no dinosaurs are allowed as Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig enter the room wanting answers to this outrage. Peppa has had enough of cohabitation with George and wants to sleep in a seperate bedroom. George is pounding Mr. Dinesaur into the floor, causing Teddy to be amused for the first time in his life as the tea party is being destroyed. Mummy Pig rubs her tummy as Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig inform Peppa that they are in fact getting a new location because of "Pig Changes" you see. Plus, I betcha Nick told them and the writers that they cannot act like they are the poor middle class family anymore when they have been making huge bank for the company. Peppa is not impressed by this, so Mummy Pig proclaims that they might get a room each and this makes George and Peppa gasp. Daddy Pig asks if they are okay with that, and Peppa and George are like "Yes, YAY!". George runs rings around Peppa as the parents giggle. Scene change to what appears to be a tiny house as Miss Rabbit in Job #What?! wearing a yellow suit and blue tie with a baseball cap. Just twist the knife further on this character, why don't you, show?! Then I realize that this is basically the same thing as a train ride, only in house form complete with fold up bunk beds. Yeah, this is so not going to be the new house. Mummy Pig is not thrilled because Nick told them that they have to act like they are rich now, and this makes them look even cheaper. Peppa still like this and wants to buy it, which is dumb because she wants to get away from George in storyline now. Unless that itself was a troll move. I doubt it as the parents rightfully overrule her. George's smile shows that he gets it and Peppa doesn't as Daddy Pig says it all, so Peppa is the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! The family and Miss Rabbit leave stage left as the door slams and the bunkbed folds up. That was funny at least. Next house to show is a giant house with more windows than a spy gate. POW! OUCH! Ummmm...Why is Peppa wearing a green post it note on her chest?! Then I realize the answer: Peppa is cosplaying Miss Rabbit since she has a notepad and pencil. Okay, that was funny. Hey, I need all the amusement I can get since they are completely overwroughting this arc and we aren't even two minutes into it. Apparently this is a nice house because it has 68 rooms in it, since 69 rooms would not be nice.
Mummy Pig wants to move on from this bullshit and she almost says the exact same thing before leaving. Miss Rabbit is pondering this over, like she has no clue want the family wants in a house. Scene change to a house that looks like a version of Penny Polar Bear or Suzy Sheep's house. Everyone enters the house and everyone agrees that this house is just right. Peppa is impressed with the house until she looks out of the window and notices that the house is just in perfect position to show off the little house on the hill. Then the family changes it mind and leaves, Miss Rabbit is pissed off at this. Miss Rabbit is Nick's spokeperson on this show I see. Nevertheless, Peppa and Miss Rabbit shake hands before leaving, that was amusing. Scene change back to the little house on the hill as the family arrives from the car parked on the steepest side of the hill once again. The family enters the house as they ponder over their next move. Peppa wishes the house was bigger and Daddy Pig gets the LIGHTBULB OF BLOODY CLARITY and hugs Peppa, calling her a genius. I get that the adults are supposed to adore the kids, but that doesn't mean that the kids are smarter than the adults. Scene change to the office as Daddy Pig now has a laptop; which makes them not keeping the 4K television in "The New TV" even dumber in hindsight. Anyhow, Daddy Pig shows blueprints of the house because in storyline, Daddy Pig is an architect. Anyhow, his computer program designs new houses and he basically creates a garage for the extention, a new roof for the bedrooms and a new playroom on top of the garage so they can play together. Peppa and George are offered the mouse and they play around with the computer program for a while. Why not?! It's not like the computer program can email the design to the construction workers directly. Peppa and George make a robot looking house, that was funny, but isn't happening in Peppa's world much lest the real one. They did allow Peppa and George to print out the blueprint. 2:1 odds that it will be involved in the next episode just to make Daddy Pig look like a geek. Anyhow, Daddy Pig brings up the correct blueprint complete with color palette and it's just right now. Daddy Pig emails the blueprints to Mr. Bull, thus proving me wrong and thankfully, no incident will happen. Yet. Mummy Pig declares that Peppa and George will not have to sleep together anymore and the kids all cheer in unison. They are so happy as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 4:30. Some funny moments ensued, but it was just going through the motion here so far. *** (60%).
The Big Build: This episode is #435 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the little house on the hill for what will be the last time on this show as there is a concrete mixer and pylons. Oh no, I shudder to think where this going now. There is the caravan on the bottom of the hill on the left. The family walks out of the house with Daddy Pig wearing construction worker's gear and carrying blueprints, Mummy Pig carrying her bump, Peppa Pig carrying Goldie The Goldfish in the bowl and finally George carrying the blueprint containing the house robot. Daddy Pig tells Peppa not to worry because they aren't leaving, just going into a changed house and that makes Daddy Pig confess that he is going to miss the house. Mummy Pig tells Daddy Pig that she is the one with the baby and yes, she said "pregnant" here. She's carrying Mr. Dinesaur and Teddy, and hopefully she never gives Teddy back to Peppa, ever. Yes, the caravan is the building HQ as everyone goes inside. Mummy Pig says it's smaller than usual even though it's the exact same size as the caravan during Series Eight! That bump has gaslit Mummy Pig's mind. Anyhow, Daddy Pig goes over to the table and takes out the blueprints to make some last second tweaks so to speak. Peppa and George make noises and point when they reveal their blueprint on the table. Then we hear a horn and Daddy Pig proclaims that it's the construction workers. The blueprints get rolled out as Daddy Pig takes George's House Robot blueprints on the way. Uh oh! I knew letting the kids print out their own blueprints was going to make Daddy Pig into the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! All the deconstruction workers are here: Mr. Bull, Mr. Labo, Mr. Rhino and the debuting Mrs. Bear in worker's gear arrive with all the parts and vehicles needed to build the house. Mr. Bull and Mr. Rhino arrive with a wooden table. Oh great, they are planning to put Daddy Pig through it with 3D. Or not. Mr. Bull and Daddy Pig exchange notes because Daddy Pig made some minor tweaks as the kids laugh and repeat. They are acting like they just trolled on Daddy Pig even though they didn't. Daddy Pig was dumb enough to take the wrong plans. At least he's not wading in concrete. That made him the biggest geek in pre-school history. Daddy Pig hands over the plans to Mr. Bull, he might as well be wearing a clown suit.
Daddy Pig informs the kids that they need to go back into the caravan. Peppa and Mummy Pig are fine with it; but George wants NONE of this. He is yelling no like no one's business. Daddy Pig tries to ensure George that he'll see the building via a video and George don't care as Mr. Bull is asking if this is what Daddy Pig wants. Daddy Pig says yes, George continues to scream and has to be physically restrained and moved back to the caravan. WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK WAS THIS?! I have never seen George this bossy and panicky before. We head inside the caravan as everyone is confused by George's behavior and Daddy Pig informs George that he must wear blue because they are visitors and safety gear. Peppa and George do a talkover and Peppa has a Krackpotkin Plan. Daddy Pig must be on site as we hear deconstruction noise and Daddy Pig bails to help the workers build the new house. So, Mummy Pig creates sweets on the kitchen area while George and Peppa tear up the legit blueprints and craft them into safety gear. Peppa and George are ready to assist as Daddy Pig comes in and he looks like he realized he is wearing the clown suit of this outfit because he tells everyone to come out to see this. Everyone comes out as Mr. Bull is not thrilled because they did in fact build the House Robot~! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay, this was funny. Now I know why George was yelling: He wanted the blueprints back because it was the kids' blueprints they were using. In other words, George knew Daddy Pig took the wrong blueprints. This is GEEK OF THE YEAR achivement from Daddy Pig~! Mummy Pig is not thrilled as Peppa and George finally confess and put the blueprints in proper order on the table. Major logic hole: In the previous episode, Daddy Pig emailed the correct blueprints to Mr. Bull. Why didn't Mr. Bull just print out those blueprints and use them himself so he could cross-reference Daddy Pig's blueprint corrections. Mr. Bull is the bigger GEEK OF THE YEAR in my book. This is funny, don't get me wrong; it's just stupid. We rebuild the house properly and Peppa is so happy that she and George run rings around Mummy Pig as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 4:30. This was a great episode, logic break aside and George's crash out is one of the funniest. Almost as funny as Baloo's version on Bob's House of Fish in Pizza Pie In The Sky. Almost. **** (80%).
Decorating: This episode is #436 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the big house on the hill as Mr. Labo and Mr. Rhino are cleaning up and leaving. Mr. Bull is talking with the Pig family as Peppa hate a lick of paint, so Peppa doesn't get that figure of speech. Mr. Bull and Daddy Pig shake hands in the most awkward way possible and they it's so long farewell as Mrs. Bear gets literally six seconds of screen time in two episodes as a construction worker. Way to show that Spanish MP you care about women construction workers there, show. The family goes inside to the new sitting room and you will not guess what we see. Take a guess, it's too shocking! SURPRISE~! It's OKAY, BOOMER~! POW! OUCH! Ummmm...Yeah, the 4K Television from "The New TV" is mounted on the wall. What was the point of returning the old television set when you were getting a new one anyway with the bigger house?! Otherwise, it's a bigger sitting room with some shelves and it looks nicer. Peppa then points out the new television just to bury the old television deep within the earth. Okay, logic hole: If this episode is a decorating episode, why is the entire house already decorated with stuff?! The garage is shown for the first time and by the way, this is going to be the last full episode showing off the old red car because they are getting a new car in the very next episode. Geez, Nickeledeon was serious when they said the Pig family needs to act like douchebags and spend their daddy's money. Okay, maybe not. The kitchen and the office are next and they look awesome. If this new baby is ruining Peppa Pig, at least it makes the house look great. The baby's room looks great and I should note that a lot of the decorating scenes actually were filmed for Peppa Pig Tales, so in a way it made sense, but still. The name should have changed to "The Finishing Touches" or something for a more accurate story. The playroom has a SWANK fishtank where Goldie is, so she's fine. George plays with the toy car for a while.
However, the best part is saved for last as we scene change to Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig at the doors as they tease and open the door to show Peppa and George's new rooms are side by side. Peppa and George are giddy as they enter and they are white and empty. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! George saying "why" was absolutely priceless. I love the parents making the kids look like geeks in a safe and non-problematic way. Peppa and George are confused as they walk out because their rooms are the one that need the decorating, thus justifying the title of this episode at least. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig want them to decide how to customize their rooms and Peppa and George love it. Scene change to the giant glass shopping center as the Pig family enters. I'm not going to bother with cameos here since everyone is a palette swap of other characters. Daddy Pig takes a shopping cart as Mummy Pig is not really thrilled to be here since it risks buying stuff they don't need. Of course, she catches Daddy Pig trying to take a robot looking like a shoplifter. Daddy Pig puts the robot back and blushes, that was funny. Daddy Pig and George head to the dinosaur themed area while Mummy Pig and Peppa Pig go in another direction, probably looking for dumbells to be indecisive about, or something. George is throwing dinosaur themed stuff into the cart like no one's business. At least George's motives are clear and concise, I can fully understand him. Peppa not so much. For those who think I'm puching down on Peppa for being indecisive, she literally admits on camera that she doesn't know what she wants to Mummy Pig. The next two scenes are hilarious and crack me up for exactly the wrong reasons: The first scene is Peppa being bored while in bed in a normal room. I am not doing the joke I did with Bea because Peppa was sitting on the bed during this scene. The next room is a bunkbed with clowns everywhere. Peppa loves this room so much that Mummy Pig enters and has to physically restrain her because they are not having that room. I betcha this would be Kit Clownkicker's room. POW! OUCH! Hey...
Wait a second, Super Potato is a clown?! Huge, if true. Peppa then does the robot inside a future room that looks low tech even for this show. Then Peppa tries out the Dinosaur bedroom, and I betcha George scares her off in disgust for gimmick infringement. I check the video...Nope. She stops and jumps off disappointed. Damn, I was waiting for George to do the obvious and he didn't even show up! Sad! Peppa is sad, albeit for a different reason as Mummy Pig has her own shopping cart. In comes Daddy Pig and George Pig will their shopping cart being full. Peppa sighs and then notices an empty room with a cardboard picked up by Old Miss Donkey, the only known Donkey not to speak French on this show. Miss Donkey is wearing red and a bit of yellow on the bottom as Peppa asks her if she can build the empty room with bits and stuff. Miss Donkey decides to let her per parent permission. The parents are fine with it, so let's get started. Basically, they take bits from other rooms, including a plush unicorn and a bunkbed, because she still have to be the king of the bed here. I guess it's in case Suzy comes over for a sleepover. Or even Cousin Chole or any girl for that matter. Everyone loves it and the room is finally realized as we scene change to Peppa's new bedroom, which looks even bigger; with different drawings on the background and other toys laying on the ground. Even when she decided on the room, she still had to be indecisive in the end. George's room is a single sleeper room with dinosaur thingies, HUZZAH~! George jumps on the bed as we scene change to a shot of the big house on the hill as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 4:30. Phase one of the "Pig Changes" is complete and it was a mixed bag so far. This episode was fun for the most part, although the "The New TV" episode really sticks out like a sore thumb now. *** 1/2 (70%).
Bigger Car: This episode is #437 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the big house on the hill and into Peppa Pig's new bedroom as Peppa Pig is sleeping in her new covers which contain cyan blue baby images against a banana yellow background. Peppa Pig yawns and wakes up and yells "new room" before getting out. The funniest part is that she cut off the narrator talking about the new room and the narrator hears her and says "Oh, I was going to say that." She rubs her feet onto the rainbow fluffy mat on the floor. She goes to the window yelling "Hello Teddy" to a bunch of images of Teddy on her pink/red curtains, thus showing how much she cares about the real Teddy. Which is she doesn't care at all. I betcha she going to give a shock to the real Teddy now. Peppa now has her own mini stage for puppet plays like her Cousin Chole had in Series one. Peppa is so happy that she goes out into the hallway, spots George outside with Mr. Dinesaur and they hug. Awww, my heart melted. Then both of them decide to go into the new playroom. They run into the new playroom as Peppa brings out a huge toy truck set and wants to have a race with George. George and Mr. Dinesaur growl with approval. Then the doorbell rings and Daddy Pig answers the door to reveal Mr. Zebra the post officer of doom with a cardboard box. Mr. Zebra and Daddy Pig come in and open the box to reveal the purple/blue trim car seat for the new baby. Mr. Zebra and Daddy Pig have a quick chat about the top of the line and Mr. Zebra is not talking about the car seat. I think he was talking about the house, but what do I know?! We head to the garage as Daddy Pig mounts the baby seat to the back seat and everything is going smooth...Oh wait, now Peppa and George cannot get into the backseat since George's car seat and the babyseat block the middle seat and the middle seat is too small for Peppa to sit in. Peppa and George are shoving and grabbing each other as Daddy Pig realizes that he is dumb and Mummy Pig realizes that they need a bigger car. Even though it looked like Peppa could easily fit in the middle.
Then again, the Pig family must look richer than they are expressing now according to Nick policy and therefore a bigger car must be bought. Daddy Pig doesn't know where to start and the logical move is to go to a car dealership, but Peppa has a "better plan". Her plan is to do a car race with remote control cars in the playroom and she and George study them wearing ties. George has a clipboard and is wearing his blue tie on top of his head like a hat. HAHA! Mummy Pig then decides to walk away from this situation because she knows it's bullshit and Daddy Pig has to be the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Daddy Pig's sigh says it all methinks. Of course you shouldn't ask for advice on a new car from a four year old child like you don't get advice from ten year old nephews in Yuppy Ducks from Ducktales, that's stupid. However, unlike Yuppy Ducks, the pigs are just cosplaying stuff and ultimately Daddy Pig is making the decision himself. Peppa picks the monster truck first, which is the same vehicle that Daddy Pig test drove for real in the USA and it bounced up and down in muddy puddles and gave Daddy Pig a fear of heights moment that exposed how dumb the angle was. Peppa and Daddy Pig then go to the blue cushion and there is a steering wheel right there for Daddy Pig to use and Daddy Pig cosplay drives the car like a maniac as Peppa is gleefully blowing him off for driving too fast. I howled with laughter. This is the dumbest way to select a car, but I'm laughing so hard it was worth it. Next up is a toy tractor because Daddy Pig wants a slower vehicle. Of course! By the way, the mat on the floor is made of rainbow color puzzle pieces. More cosplaying ensues on the scene changer as George looks like a dork. Peppa's tie is dangerously making her look like Fred Flintstone. George is a chicken with a tie on his head as they do the chicken crossing spot. Daddy Pig realizes the flaw in this tractor: More seats, not less seats.
Finally, Peppa decides to pick a model version of a red car that looks sleek, but has more seat room. Daddy Pig accepts the red car and wants to buy the real thing. That leads Peppa and George to leave, surprising Daddy Pig because he wanted to go later. Daddy Pig decides to follow along and this logically leads to a scene changer. We head to the car dealership for real as the narrator calls it a car showroom, which is perfectly acceptable. Daddy Pig, Peppa Pig and George Pig walk in and it's Granny Wolf greeting them, so yes, Granny Wolf is a car sales representive for her job. They exchange notes and Peppa shows off the model car. Granny Wolf does the hard tease of refusal for a bit and then decides: Yes, we have the car available! She shows it off and it's gift wrapped with a white ribbon to boot! Something tells me Granny Wolf already knew they were coming. MUMMY PIG~?! Granny Wolf and Daddy Pig shake hands on the deal. Logic hole: In Peppa Pig Tales, they did a full test drive episode and Mummy Pig was featured fully in that episode, including teasing needing to go to the hospital to have the baby. Here, Mummy Pig is completely absent. The coordination between this show and Tales is not good, I'm having TaleSpin television/comic book flashbacks. I mention this because Daddy Pig and company are in the new car and are about to drive home without an actual test drive. Daddy Pig then stops and turns around having feelings for the old car. Nick is panicking as I speak. The kids wave goodbye to the car, Daddy Pig waves goodbye to the car. Peppa pushes a red button on the door out of weirdness and it warms Daddy Pig's ass. We head back to the big house on the hill and into the garage as Daddy Pig mounts the baby seat into the back properly this time and that is that. Daddy Pig wants ice cream and Peppa shakes hands on the deal. Daddy Pig thanks Peppa for the new car and everyone gets into the new car. Daddy Pig drives the car down the hill onto the boring road as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 4:30. Okay, the build to the car dealership was great, but the rest of it was rushed completely and had a massive logic hole in the process. Call it *** 1/2 (70%).
Opening Moment #2: Basically the exactly same opening as #1; only the house and car are bigger! Patchwork Quilt and Sibling School could be interchangable as episodes and not affect the order of the episode.
Patchwork Quilt: This episode is #438 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the grandparents house on the hill as we jump cut to inside the attic with Peppa, Mummy and Granny Pig looking for some things to assist in the arrival of a new baby. Peppa is checking the green CHEST OF DEMONS, while Granny Pig finds Peppa's teething ring which is two plastic rings of blue and white color. Mummy Pig doesn't look amused by this as it's 4 PM on the clock. At least in theory as Mummy Pig grabs the ring and is asking why they kept that. That is a good question actually. Mummy pig throws the ring behind her back as Peppa wants to do something for the baby, which hopefully isn't trolling on her part. Mummy Pig claims she is already doing that and Peppa discovers a quilt in the chest. Granny Pig is amazed as she grabs the quilt that she made with her mother and it's basically two plasters with purple in the middle and some pink/lavander surrounding it. It's also the baby blanket Mummy Pig slept with when she was just a baby. Granny Pig explains that the quilt is basically material stitched together as one of the square is a dress that looks like it is a skinned Piglet, leading to a flashback of Granny Pig trying to put on the dress, but it is stuck on her head. Wah-wah! This flashback would later be used for Baby's Arrival I should note. Yes, I ranting this one out of order because I recently found the full episode just after finishing Holding The Baby. The orange is apparently from orange curtains when Mummy Pig was a little piggie. The narrator explains the obvious to us. Peppa Pig wants to create a quilt for the new baby and Mummy Pig overdramatically calls it a beautiful idea. They hug and Granny Pig puts the quilt back into the green chest, saying "bless you". Wow, I didn't expect that to be allowed anymore.
The family decides to look for some materials for memories as we head back to the big house on the hill as Granny Pig joins with Peppa and Mummy in the bigger red car. Probably one of the few times I have seen the grandparents in the red car, new or old. It's also the first time the car goes into the garage legit this time. Sadly, this will mark the end of the red car being parked on the steepest side of the hill, at least at the house. Everyone else is fair game though. We head into the sitting room as Daddy Pig is building block towers with George as George apparently has been watching "Hey, Duggee!" too much. Peppa, Mummy and Granny Pig enter as Peppa and Daddy Pig exchange notes for a while. Apparently, the building block where to make a dinosaur city, which is the signal for George to use Mr. Dinesaur to knock the city down. I check the video...Damn, I'm so good. Even better, George only knocked down the clock tower, the one Daddy Pig build. That was funny as the rest of the family bails to find some quilting material for the new quilt. Daddy Pig is not amused as we head to the adults' bedroom as the adults find two boxes and dump them onto the floor. Peppa will decide which bits to use as Mummy Pig shows them the most worn and torn purple footy pjs I have ever seen and the adults are just laughing at the notion. Yup, this is revenge for all the years Peppa has trolled these two women and she's paying for it. This is great! Peppa no sells the deal, so next up is a shirt she wore at George's first birthday and George threw cake and ice cream on it. Peppa no sells that deal and Peppa is now crashing out like George was in "The Big Build", only with a lot more restraint. Mummy asks what is wrong and Peppa accuses this of being sad memories rather than happy memories.
Granny Pig claims that not all sad memories are sad. That makes no sense. If Granny Pig is trying a "man's trash, another man's treasure" analogy, it's failing. Mummy Pig tries to explain that it's not when it was sad at the time, it's the memories of what you remember of it now. Granny Pig demonstrates this with a flashback when she was a child, which looks like a room from 1970's. Granny Pig has the dress over her head and the dress looks like she skinned Piglet from Winnie The Pooh: The Disney Edition. We return to reality (no, not really) as Granny Pig is cosplaying and Peppa looks like she wants to tickle Granny. Peppa finds a white cloth square on the floor containing a rubber duckie and this is what Peppa likes. Okay then. Peppa also finds a red cloth on the floor and Peppa calls it her red dress. Now we have some ideas for the quilt as the Pigs all bring the cloth pieces and such out of Granny Pig's room. We hit the montage of cutting and deciding how to piece it together from Peppa at the table, since she still isn't allowed to use scissors at this point. They have played the Series One curious music a lot more often in this arc in the first five episode than most of the entire brand combined outside of Series One at this point. Granny Pig is manually sewing and Peppa is bored and complaining. They are in the kitchen I should note as Mummy Pig brings out the electronic sewing machine to speed things up. Peppa is in awe of this. We sew together with Mummy Pig and Peppa Pig with the machine as the narrator is happy that this is happening. HAHA! We finally return to the big house on the hill AFTER HAPPY HOUR (after dark) as Peppa is in her pjs and she climbs into her bed. Mummy Pig and Granny Pig arrive with the finished quilt, and adds one more touch to it: a pink stitching outline of Peppa Pig herself on the bottom left side of the quilt. Peppa loves it as she cannot wait to give it to the baby. Mummy Pig agrees to let Peppa sleep with the quilt for the night as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 4:30. This was a fun episode, mostly the part where the adults troll on Peppa so hard that she crashes out on quilt pieces. *** 1/4 (65%).
Sibling School: This episode is #439 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the community building on the hill as the Pig family walks up the hill and enters the building as Miss Rabbit is here to be the teacher of Sibling School; which teaches kids how to handle babies properly. Miss Rabbit should write a book about herself and expose the business because why not have Gigi Gazelle doing this role, or even Mummy Rabbit; who raises FOUR kids already on this show?! Mummy Pig then says "antinatal class" and I'm like "what?". Somehow this convinces Miss Rabbit to know what Peppa is talking about. Damn, my head hurts on that one. Then I discover that the room to the left is the "antinatal class" Mummy Pig was talking about and the room with the rainbow is the Sibling School. Okay, that makes more sense as it's 10 AM on the clock. Who's the teacher for the "antinatal class" for the adults?! Sadly, we never find out. I'm guessing it's Mummy Rabbit and Peppa Pig is being cocky again since she had George. Ummm, you were two years old when George was born, Peppa. You are submitting to arrogance again, troll. Anyhow, the kids head inside the daycare center with Rebecca Rabbit, Richard Rabbit, Penny Pony (!!!) and a palette swap of Suzy Sheep. They are all sitting on the mat. Rebecca is holding a white doll as there is a green container of baby dolls of different skin colors. Black Sheep Suzy actually speaks and cuts a decent promo and then Rebecca Rabbit cuts a promo, and then trolls on Miss Rabbit by claiming that it feels like a potato. Miss Rabbit gets the RECORD SCRATCH OF BLOODY CLAIRTY on that one. HAHA! Rebecca is blushing on that one, which is odd since it's supposed to be a carrot. Why BS&P, Why?! Penny Pony cuts a promo, I think this is the first time she has legit spoke on this show. Just for context sake: Penny Pony was originally one of the main kids on the show in the pitch and pre-planning stages, but was changed to Pedro F'N Pony.
More promo cutting and exchange notes make Gregory Weagle something something. The kids are laughing as Miss Rabbit is now caught in a Beavis and Butthead moment. She said "bottom" because it means "ass", so of course they are snickering. I knew this would be the funniest episode of the entire arc coming in and so far, it's not disappointing me. Peppa (of all trolls) changes the subject as they talk about balls. Now I'm snickering for no reason. Ahem, this leads to a flashback of Miss Rabbit or Mummy Rabbit in purple in the baby's room consoling a rabbit baby boy who is bawling his eyes out. It's either Robbie Rabbit or even Richard Rabbit in different colors duds. Considering "The Olden Days" episode, there is presedent for both answers to be valid. Robbie/Richard grabs the ball and hits Mummy Rabbit/Miss Rabbit in the nose, just to make me giggle. Miss Rabbit was not amused, so it really was Miss Rabbit changing Robbie/Richard's diaper. Peppa then proclaims that babies don't make sense, which is like telling a cartoon writer that. That's a troll move if I ever heard of one on Peppa's part. I'm amazed whomever wrote this line thought they would get away with it actually. George does baby noise and we discover that Rebecca's doll reacts to it perfectly with noise. HAHA! George has his voice on the pulse of these baby dolls. Not the perfect ten "Baby Doll", but they are supposed to be flawed in storyline, so it works better as a result. And now for the funniest part of the entire episode: The kids now get to have the dolls in their hands to be schooled by the voice activated dolls. This is a trainwreck just waiting to happen and I love it! Miss Rabbit calls the talking, "barbling". Could be worse, I guess. Rebecca is barbling with one of the baby dolls and then all the baby doll respond in kind. That is hilarious, this is going to turn into the infamous tape recorder goes bust so hard that the kids were making robot noises as music. This is awesome!
Peppa then talks in British English, introducing herself and the baby cry in unison. There are six baby dolls, so we have seven instances of crying already! This Sibling School is running off the rails, and it was great. Miss Rabbit knows it too, judging by the blank stare. Miss Rabbit asks the kids how to response and the kids come up with all sorts of things. Except one, barble; which clearly worked the first time. The kids do all sorts of things and the baby dolls no register and cry in unison. I know, do the barbling from earlier. That seems to work. Then we discover that singing them to sleep actually works! WHAT?! So much for my theory that the baby doll only know two things: crying when they talk in English and smile when they talk in Barble. That was disappointing. Miss Rabbit continues the session asking how they get babies to sleep and Peppa Pig basically reveals The Noisy Night in the process. I laughed and laughed and laughed some more. Peppa just being an honest troll is the greatest. Yes, they showed a flashback of this with Auntie Pig and Baby Alexander sleeping in her arms. Then we return to reality (no, not really) and Miss Rebecca calls it brilliant! Okay, this is the best episode of the Pig Changes arc, bar none! Black Sheep Suzy asks if they have a vacuum cleaner and there is none available, but Peppa's plan is to make vacuum cleaner noises. Works for me, I guess. The kids put the baby dolls on the pillows and they make vacuum cleaner noises. I thought this was going to backfire in their faces, which is hilarious in itself; but it works! By god, it works! That's even funnier! The kids breathe a sigh of relief as it's stickers for everyone from Miss Rabbit. In comes Mummy and Daddy Pig, because we all know Daddy Pig has to be the GEEK OF THE WEEK~ somehow! Everyone laughs as the narrator is about to say it all, but then the baby dolls all cry complete with Baby Alexander siren noise! They found a way to make that sound funny again! That ends the episode at 4:30. You know what this episode is getting. ***** (100%).
Baby's Arrival: I should note that in the Nick Jr. USA edit of this episode, it was titled "New Baby". Probably because the baby was always there in the tummy and thus the previous title made no sense. Neither episode name was problematic though. This episode is #440 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the big house on the hill as we scene change to inside the sitting room for movie night as George is the one picking the movie for tonight on the remote control of their 4K television. George is clearly having weightlighting issues as he scrolls through the choices featuring the pirate, the red monkey, the funny onion (yes, Mummy Pig's book is now a movie, more progressive than Super Potato movies that is for sure), Mrs. Duck, among others. Peppa thinks George is trolling her on this and Daddy Pig tells her to be patient like the baby. Peppa asks when the baby is going to be born and Mummy Pig claims it's next week. Then, Mummy Pig has that frowny feeling which is clear sign that she might have to have the baby right fucking now! Daddy Pig is not happy about this, but the kids pop right on cue. That was funny. Now, Mummy Pig had that feeling in the Test Drive episode of Peppa Pig Tales and it turned out to be a false alarm. Considering the episode's name in this episode, I doubt this is a false alarm. Daddy Pig wants to get the hospital bag with sandwiches and toys, while mixing up the roles in the process. Peppa and George don't care, they are following these orders anyway as they bail stage left with Daddy Pig. Mummy Pig is on her mobile phone with Granny Pig and Granny Pig is shrieking with happiness that this is finally happening. We head to the hospital, which has also been improved since the last time I saw it in the mainline series. Granny and Grandpa Pig are waiting with their yellow car parked as the big red car arrives with the Pig family. Everyone gets out and hugs for the meet and greet. Granny Pig tells Peppa and George that they are staying at the grandparents house; Peppa is not happy about this since she wants to help the baby.
Mummy Pig apologizes because this is an adult thing that will take hours, and Peppa needs to look after George anyway. Daddy Pig promises that they will call the kids the moment the baby is born and Peppa feels better about it. Peppa and George go with the grandparents while Mummy and Daddy Pig head into the hospital. Jump cut to the purple house on the hill as Peppa, George, Granny and Grandpa Pig arrive at the house via the yellow car. They get out and head inside, now Peppa is frowning and sighing. Peppa really wanted to be there when the baby is born, she's got a better toughness than I do. My thoughts were confirmed when Granny Pig asks Peppa about the matter. We head into the sitting room as Granny Pig decides to tell Peppa the story of how Mummy Pig was born. This is just daring a trainwreck at this point. Which is fine as long as Mummy Pig doesn't know she's snitching on her. Peppa then realizes that she's an expert on Mummy Pig since she's Mummy's Mummy. Huge, if true. Okay, it is true. Granny Pig brings out a purple pillow for demonstration purposes, which is using it as her bump. Granny Pig gets on the sofa and pats it to signal for Grandpa Pig to sit behind her, because it's a cosplay of them driving to the hospital, which Grandpa Pig does not get at all. Grandpa Pig is such a geek here, although he does get it when she winks on cue. Grandpa Pig sits on the left side of the sofa and we continue the cosplay. Peppa and George bail to get a red stool (NOT THAT ONE!), and she's the driver and George is the engine of course. Again, Molly Cunningham riding on Kit's back is many buys and even more so when they are adults. After a long time in the cosplaying car, we are at the hospital as Grandpa Pig goes all Peanuts on us in the process. Granny Pig proclaims that they meet the doctor and the midwife. Yes, the midwife is a medical profession caregiver for women who are birthing babies. They need to come up with a better name than "midwife" for that one. Maybe "Obsterician" would be better.
Anyhow, Peppa is the doctor and George is her wife, wearing an oven mitt and a yellow mold for a jellycake. Umm, yeah; this is getting dumb now. George wearing a tie on his head was hilarious, a jelly mould not so much. Everyone has a laught at the midwife's expense and then the green phone rings on the small table. Granny Pig answers the phone and it's a male voice doing a stalker gimmick via telemarketing. Damn, even this show is trolling on my mommy now! Granny Pig calls it rude and hangs up as the kids are giggling. Grandpa Pig says that the doctor and midwife made Granny Pig sit down and the kids rub the pillow bump to make Granny Pig giggle. Then the phone rings again, and Grandpa Pig answers it; and yes, there is a Mr. Pug on this show. Unless this is just the stalker telemarketing again. Oh wait, it is. Grandpa Pig no sells the deal and hangs up as we continue the cosplay, the kids are amused. I better not hear that the one making penis jokes on my phone was named Peppa Pig, that would be a bad look for this show. Granny Pig and George go into the next room on the left to finish the story as George returns with Mr. Dinesaur wrapped in a white blanket. HAHA! Wait, didn't they have a doll from a previous episode on retainer?! Basically, this is a troll move on Mummy Pig, then. How rude and disrespectful?! Speaking of both, the phone rings...AGAIN! Granny Pig has crashed out as she answers the phone, cuts a nasty promo and hangs up! Guess who was on the other end this time, take a guess, it's too shocking. Surprise~! It's OKAY BOOMER~! POW! OUCH! Ummm... Well, he's close to being one anyway, it's Daddy Pig at the hospital. Granny Pig is the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! When Grandpa Pig says that it could be them, the phone ring again. They answer the phone nicely this time and Daddy Pig officially confirms that the baby is born for real this time! We discover that we are in the hospital room as Mummy Pig is tired, but she is in bed in a daisy orange outfit with the baby in a white blanket wearing a yellow ribbon on her side. The kids are hyper excited about this as the baby makes happy noises as the narrator proclaims that the kids will officially see the baby on the next episode to end the episode at 4:30. A very fun episode, but damn I hope my mom doesn't read this rant; she might have flashbacks of the wrong kind. *** 1/2 (70%).
Baby Names: This episode is #441 on the animation paper and the episode opens at the hospital with the yellow car arriving. Peppa, George, Granny and Grandpa Pig all get out and enter the hospital. Jump cut to Mummy and Daddy Pig in the hospital room with the new baby as they waste almost zero time in giving introductions as the kids and the grandparents enter. There are balloons on the right side of the room as Peppa breaks the ice within seconds with her introduction. The adults exchange notes as Mummy Pig is fine for the most part, outside of some fatigue, which is normal after giving birth to a baby. Mummy Pig is lucky she isn't hating life right now, that is much more normal than most realize. The baby's unique feature is the birthmark on her cheek is a red heart which the family notices. Grandpa Pig brings out a brown/orange book, but Granny Pig kindly tells him that this is a bad time to pull this stunt off. Grandpa Pig relents as more exchange of pleasure thoughts ensue and then Granny Pig asks what the baby's name is. If that book was related to the baby's name, what a troll and hypocrite Granny Pig is?! Mummy Pig has zero idea what to call the baby now. You have up to 42 days in the UK to register the baby's official name, and technically you can name the baby before it's born as long as you register the name within the allowed time period. In British Columbia, if you don't register within thirty days, you may be charged with a $27 Canadian fee. Nova Scotia is similar I should note. Peppa offers to help, which sounds like a bad idea since she's the troll of this show and this is daring a trainwreck to happen. Scene change to Daddy and Mummy Pig packing up stuff as Mummy Pig's bump is officially gone now. Peppa gives George a green crayon board as he will be taking notes. I'm ready to mock this, this is too easy otherwise. Yes, Peppa, like in Peppa Pig Tales is going to interview the baby like she interviewed her as a fetus. I couldn't understand half of what Peppa is saying because the video is sped up slighty to prevent copyright issues. I then realize that Peppa said question on the part I couldn't understand, so the accent strikes again. My mistake as usual. On the second question, the baby literally teases bawling and then smiles and farts. That was funny. Hey, the fart joke made sense and Peppa is not amused by it.
Then she sniffs the air and she runs away like a scalded dog, and George sniffs and he's not happy. HAHA! Why are preschool shows so good at paying off fart jokes than big children's shows?! Answer: Sometimes BS&P is in the right. Scene change to the hospital hallway with the entire family, baby and grandparents as Grandpa Pig thinks the yellow line leads to the car, but Granny Pig blows him off saying it leads to the washrooms basically. This leads to Daddy Pig trying to read the hospital map on the wall. At least the map is right side up this time. Peppa is pondering over names and she then goes to the vending machine and sees a conveniently placed chocolate bar in said machine. She turned around and proclaims the baby's name is chocolate. HAHA! Hey, Coco is a "chocolate"-equse name in real life, so it's not all that silly. Mummy Pig calls it sweet and not right. BOO! HISS! I can just hear that in Peppa's inner monologue right now. Daddy Pig finds the route and I'm thinking that he is going to screw it up. Scene change to the parking exit and he and family are in the red car at the barricade! He read a map properly. How about that for character development?! Mrs. Bear in construction gear is fixing the parking lot pay device which is way too far back from the barricade, and thus could be a scam. Peppa talks to Mrs. Bear and she reveals herself as Linda Bear. Yes folks, this character was designed to put to rest that there are women construction workers on this show and she becomes just the seventh character to have a legit first name instead of a title. She also had more screen time in this scene than the previous two episodes she has appeared in combined. This of course is a setup for Peppa to name the baby Linda, which Mummy Pig overrules. The barricade opens and Daddy Pig drives away stage left onto the boring road. Daddy Pig is basically telling Peppa Pig to stop coming up with names. Peppa continues doing so, naming her traffic light and seatbelt; which Mummy Pig kindly overrules her. Might as well call Peppa "Geek" now, since she's acting like one now. We head to the big house on the hill as the grandparents arrive with the yellow car at the back of the house. Everyone arrives and gets out as the baby is now in the stroller. As the door opens, Peppa calls her a door knob, and even Mummy Pig is appalled. Peppa just called the baby, do did nothing wrong at all, a knob. That's an insult! That's an insult. Now I have Ed Whalen's voice in my head.
Mummy Pig thankfully overrules her and head inside with the baby. Daddy Pig in a nice way, tells her to come up with a name that is special and fits the baby. We head into the sitting room as the baby is now in her car seat, so the stroller is part of the car seat. Hey, that's a great feature to have. Grandpa Pig comes in as Mummy Pig is sitting down on the love seat. Grandpa Pig has the book and it's the family album, containing stylized pictures of the entire Pig family. Peppa is in all three pictures shown, because she's the star of course. George is in two of the three, as well as Granny Pig. Cousin Chole, Baby Alexander and Grandpa Pig are in one of the three on the first two pages. Okay, Chole and Alexander is fine, but Grandpa Pig apparently is not photogenic, if you know what I mean. The second page is in half with Grandpa Pig getting a second photo appearance and George getting a third to equalize with Peppa. Mr. Dinesaur, Daddy Pig and Uncle Pig get an appearance, but no Auntie Pig, nor Auntie Dottie yet. Mummy Pig takes the book and goes through the pages to show a sepia colored picture of an adult woman pig anthro wearing a old fashioned dress, a daisy in her ear and a feathered peacock stem, while holding a bunch of flowers. The grandparents identify her as their Great Auntie as Peppa asks for a name. Granny Pig thinks her name is Evie, which would be the eighth character to have a first name as an adult and the first that is likely deceased. (Just to note: Reggie Rabbit, Gigi Gazelle, Greta Gazelle, Gretel Gazelle, Linda Bear, Charlotte Sheep and Dottie Pig are the other seven.) I say "likely" because if Gigi Gazelle is a vampire, I put nothing past this show to have Great Auntie Evie still being alive. I don't count "The Queen" in this case because time flows differently, and it's likely she was still alive in storyline at this point. Plus, the real deceased queen didn't voice "The Queen" in this show anyway. Peppa finally has her name and declares the baby's name is Evie. Mummy Pig loves it, Daddy Pig loves, Evie loves it, Peppa is so happy she literally misgenders the baby as a "he". That was not intentional, but bad look, Peppa. Peppa talks to Evie as the parents all laugh. We zoom out to the big house on the hill with the narrator saying it all to end the episode at 4:30. This was really good and maybe it's time to give all the adults names now instead of titles. *** 3/4 (75%). At this point, the cinema movie could have ended there at nine episodes. However, since the new opening hasn't been completed officially, we head to.....
Opening Moment #3: Finally, the final opening is complete. Same as Opening Moment #2, but with some twists: When Peppa introduces George, George literally bumps into Peppa and falls on his ass in the process laughing. Baby Sister Evie is brought in by Peppa from the west and addressed as such as Evie makes noises because Peppa is ticking her. George runs around the stroller to get into position as Daddy and Mummy Pig walk in from opposite directions as per the original. No snorting occurs from George nor the parents, understandable in this case since it might scare the baby. Peppa gets to snort though, cause she's still the star of the show. Everyone laughs to end the opening as Peppa does her usual logo spot at the end.
Holding The Baby: This episode is #442 on the animation paper and episode opens at the big house on the hill and into the sitting room with Daddy and Mummy Pig tending to Evie while Peppa and George are playing with Teddy and Mr. Dinesaur on the aqua green rug on the floor. Poor Teddy, it has to play baby for that pink gaslighting troll as Peppa has to cosplay feeding it with a bottle. George is rocking Mr. Dinesaur to sleep, that was funny. Just be gentle though, babies are much more fragile than even toddlers and homo saipens are pretty fragile in their own right. Mummy loves the lullaby and I thought it was impressive. Mummy Pig is holding the bottle is such a way that Evie has to stretch to not get it and she cannot get it anyway. She's being noisy as Daddy Pig takes over and the second he takes over, Evie is bawling her eyes out for the first time ever. She shows much more restraint than when Rosie and Robbie were first born, those two bunnies bawled their eyes out seconds after they were born in the hospital. Just a note before I continue since I did this with Rosie and Robbie: Evie is #10 on the most popular names so far according to the Guardian and #29 last year. I wonder why?! I suspect by the end of 2025, it'll be #1 and this show will be responsible for it. I see Peppa doesn't hate stats as much as she used to. Mummy Pig tells Daddy Pig to make funny faces and Daddy Pig does and it involves lifting his glasses up and down from his eyes. It is super effective and Evie's happy again. Mummy Pig proclaims that it works every time as Daddy Pig giggles, which I haven't heard him do for many episodes now. Peppa drops Teddy and wants to hold the baby, which is an indication that she's not ready yet to hold Evie. Daddy Pig doesn't see a problem with it as Peppa sits on the sofa with her arms out and Mummy Pig informs her that she is fragile and needs to be handled like a carton of eggs. Peppa decides to withdraw her decision in order to practice as she bails and returns carrying George like a baby. George seems to like it, which is funny considering that George didn't like being treated like a baby during the debut of Baby Alexander in Series 2.
Mummy Pig is amused, but Peppa sees George as too big to handle and drops him on his ass. George don't care either way. Peppa decides to try Teddy and thinks she's ready for Evie now. She's lying of course as she drops Teddy on it's back and steps on it! Yup, she's abusing Teddy for all to see now, no way she's holding Evie now. Peppa weasels her way out of this by bailing into the kitchen for more practice. There is sweet potato fries on the kitchen along with a carton of eggs. Uh oh! I think we all know where this is going now. Peppa walks in with the carton of eggs proclaiming that she is good at this, and then steps on the conveniently placed green block, and she fumbles and drops the carton of eggs; causing all the eggs to splatter onto the floor in a mess. You have never seen a bunch of parent cringe in stereo in their lives. They now know having Peppa even touch the baby is a bad idea now. Maybe that Peppa has been abusive to Teddy would have been a clue. Mummy Pig breathes and decides to bail to clean up the mess, which is smart because I don't think we can trust Peppa in holding cleaning products anymore. Peppa sulks about holding things as Daddy Pig consoles her that they are just eggs. The absolute wrong thing to say by Daddy Pig and keep in mind, he's holding Evie while saying this. Daddy Pig is dumb and Peppa Pig is not buying what he's selling either. Peppa declares that she will never ever hold anything again and storms off stage left. Ouch! We head into the kitchen as Mummy Pig has made lunch for George and Peppa. It's strawberry jam on white bread, a cherry tomato and carrot sticks which I wrongfully thought was sweet potato fries. George is sitting down eating normally, while Peppa puts her hands behind her back and tries to eat the tomato, even Mummy Pig is amused by this. Peppa Pig has messed up her face in the process, I admit that was funny. Then the door bell rings and Mummy Pig heads to the door and answers it. It's Miss Rabbit in her caregiver's outfit because of course. We cannot go through this show without reminding how sad Miss Rabbit's multiple job gimmick is. Mummy and Miss Rabbit do the meet and greet and then come inside the sitting room.
Miss Rabbit calls it "getting on with Evie". In professional wrestling, that has a different meaning and it's not good. "Getting along" is a better term methinks. They exchange notes for a while, mostly on sleeping. I feel some embellishment on Mummy Pig's part and then George runs in wearing white underwear declaring himself as a baby. HAHA! He must be reading Captain Underpants at this time. Mummy Pig claims that he's adjusting. Yeah, sure. Anyhow, Miss Rabbit brings out the scale and we weigh the baby and of course Evie bawls her eyes out on the scale, so she hates body shaming more than Daddy Pig does. Apparently she's 3.8 kilograms or roughly 8.4 pounds as Peppa comes in and notices the conveniently placed baby rattle. She teases getting the rattle to help soothe Evie, but doesn't pick it up because she cannot handle things anymore, according to her. She puts it on her foot and dances on one foot, this somehow gets Evie to be happy again. Miss Rabbit is impressed and asks if she wants to hold Evie. Peppa no sells, but Miss Rabbit offers to teach her how to do it safely. Miss Rabbit's first suggestion to find something soft for Evie to sit in while being held. Peppa then has an idea and returns with the Patchwork Quilt from five episodes ago! I should have known that would be used, because we have to pay it off somehow. She is holding it with her hands well as Miss Rabbit points this out when Peppa presents the Quilt of Memories in full bloom. Yup, she's ready to hold Evie now. Mummy and Daddy put some cushions on the soft as Peppa puts the quilt on the sofa and sits down on it. Peppa finally gets to hold the baby gently and Peppa is in awe. It is a wonderful sight as Peppa just has to troll on Daddy Pig, claiming that Evie claims that she's better than Daddy Pig. Daddy Pig has to act like this isn't a troll move. I should point out that the ending credits are running on the bottom and they are so tiny that I'm annoyed at this decision already. Daddy Pig then basically gets it and calls Evie a "cute little traitor". I didn't think BS&P would allow that last word; but they did. Miss Rabbit, George and Daddy Pig do the backsplash laugh for the first time in the entire arc as the narrator says it all to end the episode and the "Pig Changes" arc at 4:30. This was a great episode, complete with Daddy Pig starting a kind feud with Evie, I guess. **** 1/4 (85%).
THE REVIEW LINE
Well, we end the "Pig Changes" era with three bangers, five fun episodes and an okay episode. The Big Build and Patchwork Quilt all had the same highlight point: Peppa and George crashing out like nobody's business. The Big Build was the funniest one for George because it actually made storyline sense: George was angry because Daddy Pig was using the House Robot blueprints for the house which were never intended to be used. Daddy Pig took the wrong blueprints and looked like a geek of the year. Not as bad as Simple Science or even Parking Ticket, but still a big geek nevertheless. Holding The Baby was a great way to end the "Pig Changes" era and transfer the family over to the Evie era with an episode about Peppa's paranoia about holding the baby because she abuses Teddy and is reckless when it comes to eggs. Bonus points for George's Captain Underpants reference, that was great. However, the best episode of the entire arc was Sibling School. I predicted that this episode would be the best episode of the lot and it was a full points banger of an episode. Miss Rabbit's robotic babies are the biggest trolls in the business and they didn't disappoint, short of having more than two commands. The kids also made this funny as Penny Pony and Black Sheep Suzy did a wonderful job of making Miss Rabbit look like a geek, along with Rebecca Rabbit. Bonus points for the Noisy Night reference among other things. Baby Names was really good, although Peppa calling the baby a knob was a felonous insult that prevent a fourth thumbs up. Bigger House was just there, Bigger Car would have been better if Mummy Pig was there since the Peppa Pig Tales episode had her there during the Test Drive episode, making a massive logic hole in the process. Decorating was good, although it made the "The New TV" episode look even worse in hindsight. The delivery of the baby was okay and nothing really special in the grand scheme of things. By the way, I hope we see more of Linda Bear in construction work because we have to impress that Spanish MP and this isn't doing it in my opinion. Overall, a good set of shorts to end the arc.
Right now, we are up to date with Peppa Pig in both the mainline and Peppa Pig Tales series! YAY! I don't know what they are going to do in the Evie era, but the infamous "We are literally in soup" sequence was not in evidence in either series, so it was probably a decoy sequence. We'll see what happens from there since the Peppa Pig Tales episodes are still ongoing and featured only one episode not featuring Evie at all since the debut on that series. Right now, I'm back to doing TaleSpin work and if there are enough episodes in Series 2 to do in order, I'll move on with "Hey, Duggee!" as well. So...
Thumbs up for The Big Build, Sibling School and Holding The Baby. Thumbs in the middle for the rest. I'll see you all next time.
