Peppa Pig Tales #30 Rant

Reviewed: 04/26/2025

Old School Peppa Pig Is Back! Sort of Part 30!

Well, since Peppa Pig the series has been slowing down and there's only four episodes left in the pot, I was going to resume TaleSpin work this year. An easy series that gives me great joy in terms of mockery and enjoyment. There is still lots let to do before I can finally wrap that show up. Sadly, TaleSpin has been delayed until at least 2025, because my second love and enjoyment decided to really run interference on me. How so you ask? Welcome to the Rant Shack: Peppa Pig Tales! And after the very first episode, I cannot resist and I'm going to rant on these "shorts" because Baby Alexander is back and creating a lot more questions than answers. (March 2023 Gregory Weagle Says: Hold it! I have just gotten word that there is no problems with Uncle and Auntie Pig and the family is getting along just fine. You'll see the evidence in Baby Bumps. Only one missing is Cousin Chole now.) Peppa Pig Tales is a series of short 3-3 1/2 minute episodes (Literally up to 75% of an average "Peppasode".) of Peppa Pig doing stuff without the original voices or creators with most of the "filler" cut out. That's basically it. It is awkward listening to this when you are so used to seeing the show, however; it is basically the same in term of premise. So, I'll be doing eight episodes per block like I always do until this series gets sick and tired of this and goes back to the actual Peppa Pig series which has reached eight series up to this point. How do these episodes fare?! Let's rant on shall we..?!

Editor's Note #1: I will no longer be revealing which episodes were done by whomever, since my video source keeps cutting off the endings and it's basically the same six to seven writers anyway.

Cravings: Short opens with Mummy Pig floating in mid-air againest a rainbow background literally poofing away food items. She is having cravings according to the narrator and the title card. Then we get the heads of the rest of the family, basically proving that even adults are not immune to being in imagination world. We return to reality (no, not really) as we are at a food fair, which I experienced one in Porters Lake. I hated it, couldn't get anything and went home without anything. Miss Rabbit or Mummy Rabbit is in the background talking to someone cooking veggies. One of the vendors appears to be Mummy Dog as Mummy Pig cravings are making her addicted to weightlifting. Peppa is confused, which is funny because Peppa should know better since Baby Bumps addressed that. Daddy Pig certainly remembers since he has photos of Mummy Pig eating bananas with ketchup, which is a weird craving to say the least. Especially since at the time, George was not born yet. Peppa thinks this is gross, but Mummy Pig claims that she ate strawberries with mayo before Peppa was born. I'm pretty sure, Mummy Pig confused mayo with whipped cream. Miracle Whip can do that to you, sometimes. Peppa is grossed out on that one as Mummy Pig decides to figure it out herself while Doctor Pony, Daddy and Mummy Zebra are walking around the place. In the foreground, there is a WHEEL OF MORALITY, only it's food morals, not BS morals from Animaniacs. Peppa discovers it and spins it so harshly as the narrator declares it broken. Right on cue, Mr. Bull runs in with a bib on and stops the carnage. Wait, this is a spinning wheel. How can this be a map?! SUZY SHEEP~?! Even Peppa has figured this out, just to make everyone look like a geek, especially Mr. Bull. By the way, the little fish on a plate might be the first piece of meat this show has allowed actually.

Mr. Bull likes this, until the end result has him eating a salad. Mr. Bull is confused because he wanted pasta. Now, it's Mummy Pig's turn and Peppa is the spinner, and it lands on noodles with pepper. Good choice! The family go towards the vendor as Gigi Gazelle is at the table having noodles. She also speaks French and that's enough for Mummy Pig to get the face that she wants to weasel out of this deal. Mummy Pig backs up and bails to the wheel as we see Mummy Cat and Candy Cat in the background walking. Spin the wheel, make the deal...or not. Second choice is fish, and another great choice. Mummy Cat and Candy Cat get their meals on trays and leave at the vendor, whom may or may not be Mummy Pony. Mummy Pig's face is now green to the grills, she apparently is allergic to fish, which means awful choice! Back to the spin, make the deal...or not. Third choice is another awesome choice: Pizza. Nobody hates pizza. Daddy Zebra is eating pizza, the pizza vendor is another palette swap and Mummy Pig is sick again and bails. Everyone is confused as Daddy Pig blushes calling it cravings. Next choice on the wheel: Pasta with broccoli, not my good choice. Mummy Pig seems relieved about this, but Peppa thinks this is all sus. They actually order the meal as Mummy Pig is at the table. Mummy Pig takes one bite of broccoli, gets sick and then bails pushing through everyone who has meals. Then she comes back feeling okay and tells the rest of the family to order their meals and she'll do attempt number two later. Jump cut to everyone eating their meals: Daddy Pig is a sandwich, George is a pickle not burger, Peppa is a peanut butter banana sandwich. Suddenly, Mummy Pig has figured it out, she wants to eat a peanut butter pickle sandwich. And that is what she makes from the meals! The kids all love it, but Mr. Bull at the next table turns green with sickness to end the episode at 3:11. So, fish is okay, but beef isn't. Good to know. This was a perfectly chaotic episode. *** (60%).

Falling Out: Short opens at the house on the hill and then jump cut to Peppa's bedroom as Peppa and George are fighting over "yes" and "no". The narrator proclaims that the kids are having a "Falling Out" as per the title card. Mummy Pig enters and asks what is going on and Peppa proclaims that they are fighting over who the gender is for the baby. Okay, I'm predicting it right now: It's going to be a non-binary baby. Simply because if it's a girl or a boy; then the scales would tip in favor of either Peppa or George. A non-binary child would eliminate that and balance the scale. It's so obvious! George wants a baby sister and Peppa wants a baby brother I should note. The two continue to act like children...oh wait. Mummy Pig tells them that it doesn't matter in the end, which if it's non-binary, it wouldn't matter in the end. I know this because Peppa and George still continue to fight over the gender and Mummy Pig is not amused by this. Head to the kitchen as the family is having cereal for breakfast. It's 8 AM as Mummy Pig is pouring milk on her cereal, Daddy Pig is ready to eat and both kids give themselves eye contact violence. Then they fight over the cereal box and Daddy Pig has the break it up. Daddy Pig pours the cereal into the bowls and both kids pout and turn their backs on each other. Jump cut to the sitting room as George and Peppa push buttons on the music box to further annoy everyone. They are coping, they are seething, they cannot accept what their seeing. The music they pick is both good, so why not do a mixtape. Oh wait, they are sort of doing this already. Peppa steals the music box, runs away, George follows him, Daddy Pig steals it back and plays his music. It sounds like jazz music. Daddy Pig sniffs the air, but when he opens his eyes, the kids are gone. Jump cut to the bathroom as Peppa and George are fighting over a tube of toothpaste. This is so pathetic at this point.

Daddy and Mummy Pig are protesting this, but the toothpaste goes flying. It gets on the adults, and this is where Peppa apologizes. This is a hollow apology as Daddy Pig takes the toothbrushes and decides to give the kids some space. Peppa bails to play in the bedroom, and George must play in the bathroom. George is having none of this. The adults decide to leave the bathroom as George is gone now. Apparently, off-screen George kidnaps Teddy as the adults play Rock-Paper-Scissors. I swear on a stack of PZ Meyers papers that this is what happened. Daddy Pig apparently lost and we head into the bedroom as Peppa is at the bunk bed looking for Teddy and we see George on the bottom left corner with blankets as barriers having a good time with some toys and yes, he kidnapped Teddy. Pfft, who cares?! Teddy's probably better off with George, considering Peppa's relationship with the stuffed bear. Hey, at least they are obeying the space rule now. Although George is yelling too loud now. Peppa accuses George of hiding Teddy, because we cannot say "steal" or "kidnap" on this show. George is really getting mileage out of the word "no" now, isn't he?! Daddy Pig does his pep talk about the future and Peppa decides to apologize for calling George a baby. She breaks the barrier and also confesses that she sucked being kind today. I just realized that George put Teddy in a dinosaur suit as George admits that he sucked as a kind brother and gives Teddy back to Peppa. Peppa allows him to play with Teddy Saur because sharing is caring. Aw, my heart melted as they hug. Back to the kitchen as Mummy Pig is having a cup of tea. There is a laptop computer on the table as Daddy Pig sits down and thinks his day is made. Peppa and George chase each other kindly as Mummy Pig and the narrator say it all to end the episode at 3:06. This was a decent little episode, but you know this is sad when the adults must play "Rock-Paper-Scissors" in order to make themselves look serious. *** 1/4 (65%).

Opening Moment #1: LEGO Peppa is back! That's all you need to know.

Island Beach Campout: Short opens on the sea with Grandpa Pig, Peppa and George Pig wearing lifejackets going "whee" on the ocean. The narrator proclaims that they are going to a deserted island as Grandpa Pig says "land ho" as Peppa looks through the most bulky binoculars ever. They see the deserted island as the palm trees are literally being made in real time. SUZY SHEEP~?! Jump cut to the island as Grandpa Pig is putting sun cream on Peppa and it tickles now. That is one big ass block of sun cream there! George has already built a castle. Everyone puts up the red parasol/umbrella tree. Peppa and George circle the umbrella tree while Grandpa Pig sits down in relief. Sadly, the sun is setting already, much to the horror of Peppa. Neither kid wants to leave, but Grandpa Pig proclaims that they are not leaving because they are camping out in the stars, TONITE BABEE~! The kids are in such glee, but it still isn't as great as the Squirrels from Hey Duggee! Grandpa Pig throws three sacks onto the island and try to put up the tent, but the tent bails like the wind...an easterly wind in this case. Firewood is collected, but the trees are still intact. SUZY SHEEP~?! We get the bonfire, which looks like Grandpa Pig twisted the fire like a Christmas tree light. Which somehow gets flat for the out of nowhere tea kettle. SUZY SHEEP~?! It's AFTER HAPPY HOUR (after dark) when Grandpa Pig rests on his blue chair, with Peppa and George sitting in their blue chairs with blankets on their laps. Peppa and George are relieved as Grandpa Pig brings out the out of nowhere guitar and I say, "oh no". Oh wait, they invoke the TEDDY RUXPIN SONG OF DOOM and it's just a shanty song with no stealing. Probably for the best. The song ends when the kettle whistles and Grandpa Pig has the two biggest mugs he could find. Apparently, he was making tea on the bonfire. Peppa no sells the tea request because it's for grownups, you see. Then we discover after Peppa asks for juice that it's not tea. Peppa then decides to try it out and it's hot chocolate despite the fact that they are in a hot climate. SUZY SHEEP~?! George gets his cup, too. Grandpa Pig saying that it's a must for a camping trip is understandable, but it works better in winter than in summer. Then we get character development as Grandpa Pig proclaims that this is the first time he has done this since Mummy Pig was Peppa's age basically. George is yawning as Grandpa Pig sees this as bedtime. Peppa is not thrilled about this, but accept it anyway. Peppa and George race to the tent, then they half hug Grandpa Pig before going into the tent. Grandpa Pig sits down and sings as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:08. This was a perfectly acceptable episode with logic breaks. *** 1/2 (70%).

Jelly Mission: Short opens inside a dark secret lab with moving door as Peppa and George Pig wearing black clothes and clear goggles enter as the narrator proclaims that the kids are trying to steal a golden dragon, which is on a podium and clearly looks like Mr. Dine-e-saur if it were bronzed. Of course, this is set in the imagination world because we head back to reality (no, not really) as Peppa and George are cosplaying spies while doing moves in the kitchen. The table contains the "golden dragon" which is really a dragon made of yellow jelly. It's also 11:30 am on the clock as Mummy Pig is there to bust them good as she brings in a glass dome to protect the jelly dragon, which in the imagination world puts the golden dragon in a cage with alarm sounds. The dragon is not to be eaten until after lunch. Peppa and George groan and are about to leave, when suddenly Mummy Pig makes the mistake and turns into the EVIL ONE herself, Mummy Mischief~! Peppa realizes this and it's time for a "Jelly Mission", as per the title card. Peppa and George bail just as Daddy Pig is wearing a soccer uniform with soccer balls on his belly and above his leg. Daddy Pig proclaims that he'll put away the clothes after setting the table. Jump cut to Peppa's bedroom as Peppa is discussing the plan as it's officially confirmed that Daddy Pig's evil persona is Baddie Pig. Damn, I liked Baddie Daddie better as a name. George is completely confused as I am. Peppa wants George to perform the fine art of not being seen, which with Peppa around is inviting death and crippling debt at this point. The kids head to the hallway as there is a net of soccer balls tied to the top of the stair railing. The kids overhear Mummy Mischief and Baddie Daddie exchanging notes in the imgination world lab. The kitchen, everyone. The evil ones cackle and it's so bad.

George pushes the soccer net and then a soccer ball bounces down the steps after Peppa and George whom run down the steps in a panic. This is basically their way to run from a boulder down the steps in the imagination world lab. The soccer ball bounces onto the floor of the main lobby, and thus Peppa and George bail behind a giant coat. Daddy Pig comes in and sees the soccer ball and decides to put the soccer ball back, much to Mummy Pig's chargin since now Mummy Pig has to set the table herself. Daddy Pig bails upstairs, the kids comes out so loud, I'm shocked Daddy Pig doesn't suspect a thing. Peppa has a plan to run interference on Mummy Pig as we head back into the kitchen with Mummy Pig humming a tune. Then we hear Peppa on a clear transmitter voice saying that she needs help and Mummy Pig naturally falls for it and walks out of the kitchen. She is walking into the sitting room I do believe as Peppa and George enter the kitchen and in the imagination world, the entire area has red lasers all around the room. Yeah, sure. Peppa is panicky, but she and George do cartwheel moves to advance as we jump cut to the sitting room. Mummy Pig sees the sofa covered with white pillows, which is where Peppa's voice is heard. Mummy Pig uncovers the pillows and finds the music box as Daddy Pig walks in asking about the voice. Mummy Pig says it all as we jump cut to the kitchen/lab as Peppa and George have the glass dome/cage open, but the FLASHLIGHT OF DOOM shines upon thee. The sneaky piggies are so busted! Daddy Pig scolds them for being sneaky and George bawls his eyes out! Peppa jumps down from the chair and doesn't know what to do. Considering that they did zero damage to the jelly dragon, I doubt that they are getting punished in any way. Peppa then confesses that this was her idea and she will never ever do sneaky missions ever again! Wow, this is so...unlike Peppa. Mummy and Daddy ask Peppa if she wants one more mission: set up the table. Peppa complies and she sets the table to end the episode at 3:10. Wow, that was sort of anti-climatic. Another really fun episode from Alison Ray. *** 3/4 (75%).

Coins: Short opens in a lift as Peppa and George are jumping up and down, each holding a coin. Turns out they are allowed two coins today as George drops both coins and Peppa drops one, indicating the one whom has better security. Daddy and Mummy Pig are in the lift as well. Peppa gets all the coins as we seen them on the closeup, while the narrator proclaims that they are at the shopping mall to spend their "Coins", which is the title of this episode. Mummy Pig is not thrilled about this because her feet are killing her at this point. This is apparently a side effect of having a baby in her tummy as Peppa and George have a whispering conference. Daddy Pig asks what the kids are buying and Peppa declares it a secret. Yeah, sure. The lift finally opens and we head to the vending machines and these gumball vending machines have giant spheres with stuff inside as Edmond Elephant demonstrates with Doctor Elephant. George wants to spend a coin on these machines and since they have four coins, Peppa deduces that this is okay as long as it's just one coin and they have enough coins for the secret buy. Peppa helps George put the coin in and pull the lever (CLEVER CLOGS~!) and George gets the big ass sphere. George cannot carry it and barely gets it open as strawberry laces drop on their heads. Peppa and George are amused by this. Keep in mind, they are doing this as Mummy's Pig's feet are becoming sore. Daddy asks if this is the secret and Peppa says "no". We move onto the next vending machine, which is for plush toys with Suzy Sheep and Mummy Sheep. Suzy puts her coin in as Peppa and Suzy do the meet and greet. The plush toy in question is a three eyed pea soup green alien. Nice one. Peppa wants a plush toy and deduces that if she spends one coin here, they'll still have enough for the secret as she winks. Which indicates that she's either wrong or lying. Peppa buys Barry Broccoli, and it's the only plush toy for vegans. My guess is the secret item requires two coins. Daddy Pig loves the kid to be Barry Pig, but Mummy Pig overrules him instantly. Some are claiming that the baby is female, but there is no confirmation of the baby's gender right now. Either the kid is non-binary, or they do the swevere and go for the Mummy Rabbit route of her have twins of male and female. We'll see where this goes.

Next vending machine is the rocket car as played by Danny Dog with Granddad Dog. Peppa reveals that the secret requires one coin so both George and Peppa ride the machine to waste some time. The machine is clearly a rocket, but the screen shows train tracks. SUZY SHEEP~?! Oh wait, train tracks...GRANDPA PIG~?! Peppa and George are dizzy and down to one coin for the secret. Unless the secret requires two coins, what is the narrator's problem?! Peppa and George are now focused on not telling anyone. Like I trust Peppa to keep a secret properly and honestly after The Big News incident, which ended with grown adults wearing the biggest hats they could find, two bowls of baby carrots and a "bakery" that caused Peppa Pig to channel Bryan Alverez to say "Don't look at me!". There is a wishing fountain in the mall, that's fine since it's not containing any fish. Mr. Bull is wishing for a hard hat and a coin literally bonks off his head out of nowhere. SUZY SHEEP~?! We see Rebecca Rabbit at the coin pusher machine, where Rebecca literally wins all the coins. Uh-oh! The next machine is Mr. Dine-e-saur in riding form and George is doing the 0.5 Rock Lobster Yeti frowning face. We all know where this is going now, don't we?! Actually, George whines, but doesn't succeed in riding the ride. We head into the cafe and Mummy Pig is complaining, but Peppa says the secret isn't there. Then we finally see the secret: a coin-operated message chair for Mummy Pig to rest her feet. Nice one. Mummy Pig relaxes in the chair as Daddy Pig sees a second chair, but Peppa proclaims that she is out of coins. Why not just sit in the chair? What is the consequence if you merely sit in the chair without the coin? I mean, it might not be as relaxing without the coin, but you can still sit in the chair and wait for Mummy Pig to be ready to move on. Daddy Pig is once again dumb as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:09. Another fun episode with a kind finish. *** 1/2 (70%).

Baby Check: Short opens with Mummy Zebra and Zuzu and Zaza Zebra bawling their eyes out in the stroller. Okay, that was an interesting way to start the episode. Peppa and George are playing with the toys on the bottom left corner of the waiting room as the narrator is explaining that Mummy Pig is here to have ultrasound and check the health of the newborn baby in her tummy. Daddy Pig is just standing there wondering why Zuzu and Zaza are crying. I think it's because they want to play with George and Peppa and cannot because they are stuck in the stroller. Daddy Pig invokes the MAGIC TOUCH OF DOOM and talks like a baby, which calms Zuzu and Zaza down. Peppa and George play musicial instruments for a while. I betcha Zuzu and Zaza bawl their eyes out again. I check the video...Damn, I'm good! Peppa's song is so bad, I'm even crying. Except it's because I'm laughing at her, not with her. Peppa says the title card which is "Baby Check". Peppa asks if she is okay and Mummy Pig claims that she is, and it feels more real to her. Peppa calls it A-OK and gives the okay symbol. At least she only has three fingers, making the white power symbol virtually impossible. Still, I don't recommend doing it anymore, because victimization buys power and once that happens, you are screwed. Peppa stuffs a pillow and a rubber duckie in her dress to share her fake bump. Mummy Pig is relieved for real as Doctor Polar Bear arrives with her clipboard. It's official, Doctor Brown Bear is retired, even in Peppa Pig Tales. The family walks in, George is the only one being an annoyance. Doctor Polar Bear and Mummy Pig exchange notes as I do believe this is the first time Doctor Polar Bear has spoken in Peppa Pig Tales. Doctor Polar Bear decides to play along with Peppa's trolling antics as Peppa just cannot keep the pillow and rubber duckie inside her dress. Mummy Pig has her hospital patient gear on as Doctor Polar Bear checks her notes and it's time for the health check of the baby. First check: heart beat with the stethoscope. Peppa cuts her off because she wants to a heart check on her heart, just to make sure Mummy Pig is all right. I think Mummy Pig is feeling better now, no need to help her anymore, you cheeky piggie! Both hearts get checked, and Mummy Pig's is perfect apparently.

Next up is the measuring tape as Doctor Polar Bear measures the baby and it's fine. Mummy Pig is not really fine anymore as he needs a toilet break. Doctor Polar Bear gives her a plastic container jar with an orange lid. This indicates that Doctor Polar Bear is either wanting an urine sample, or a stool sample. Either way, Mummy Pig bails stage left as Peppa gets her bump checked out by cheeky George to waste more time. There is so much squeaking that Peppa is telling George to stop and bails stage right. I smell a sexual harassment lawsuit in George's future here. George chases Peppa more to cement my theory. Mummy Pig returns, but the jar is gone. SUZY SHEEP~?! Seriously, why bother giving her that jar if it isn't for a stool or urine sample?! It makes no sense otherwise. Then Mummy Pig lays down on a doctor's bed because it's time for the main event: Checking the baby itself via a process called Ultrasound. Only, here it's a microphone attached to a device with a cyan blue white heart screen that looks like a cellphone. There is no need for gel in this operation. Doctor Polar Bear doesn't call it Ultrasound for some reason, which Peppa takes the microphone and starts interviewing the baby in the tummy! That was funny! Doctor Polar Bear says it's a doplith, which has to be a mistake since I Googled it and it's a medication that has nothing to do with ultrasound. You couldn't call it a sonograph?! George joins in the questioning, that was funny. Doctor Polar Bear puts on blue latex gloves and informs the kids that the baby cannot speak yet; and the kids all groan. HAHA! Also, to make me look like a dumbass, she does use cooling gel on Mummy's tummy. Why didn't she just say it's ultrasound?! Why is that word forbidden and yet this show allowed the word "stupid", which is far more problematic than "ultrasound". Doctor Polar Bear uses the ultrasound on Mummy Pig's tummy and there is a heartbeat. Sadly, there is no screen shown of the baby, which indicates that they are still not showing the gender of the baby yet. Now Peppa's worried that the baby will gain some magical power over her, and Mummy Pig has to assure her that will not happen. Yeah, I'll bet. Daddy Pig handles George as he giggles, we hear a squeak as everyone giggles while the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:11. A really funny episode, mostly for Peppa's attempt to interview the baby. However, two giant errors: One: It's Ultrasound and Two: What was the point of the urine/stool sample when Mummy Pig returns without the sample jar?! It makes no sense. **** (80%).

Safety Centre: Short opens as the kids all gasp in horror and hold their faces. The kids are wearing safety yellow jackets as we have the bouncy ball in the background. The kids today are Peppa Pig, SUZY SHEEP~, Pedro F'N Pony, Danny Dog, and Rebecca Rabbit with Miss Rabbit as the teacher. I should note that there was a tease that this takes place at playgroup, but when they go outside the room, it's actually another room and not actually being "outside". Yes, this is the safety centre. It's the fire alarm ringing by the way. Of course they hold the no-ears because the audience is human and that's where the ears are. It's a logic break, but I can see why they broke it. Rebecca cannot handle this fire alarm ringing as everyone holds hands and Peppa has to assist Rebecca on that one. The kids and Miss Rabit head to the next room. The narrator says the title card and Miss Rabbit proclaims that they did well for a practice firedrill. That doesn't help my confidence any and Rebecca isn't amused by this either. Miss Rabbit asks the kids what to do in a real fire or hazardous event and the kids all reveal decent answers. Except for Rebecca Rabbit because she's afraid basically. Peppa is there to assist her further, that doesn't help her confidence any. Next up is a pretend car in the parking lot, which appears to be Daddy Pig's car cut in half. Please, for the love of life, let this be the payoff to an episode in the mainline series where Daddy Pig has to buy a new car because Miss Rabbit cut it in half. Heck, this is as good as a good cause as any at this point. Rebecca is frowning, which led credence to my theory. Peppa gets in the back and buckles up with a seatbelt to be safe. A reminder: When Peppa Pig first aired, there were no seatbelts, those were added in these scenes at least a good six years later, due to parent complaints. Too bad none of them complained about adults not wearing lifejackets until probably now actually. Miss Rabbit claims that Peppa did a rhyme and that Daddy Pig taught her that. Okay, good to know. The rhyme is "Buckle Up, buttercup." Term of endearment I guess, I have heard worse.

Rebecca gets the rhyme, but she's looks like she wants to be somewhere else. Next up, everyone into the pretend supermarket. Suzy Sheep gets fooled as the fruits and veggies are all drawing encased in glass. There will be no shoplifting in this store, let me tell ya. Rebecca is not amused by this, so you know she does not want to be here. Miss Rabbit being here as the teacher makes it worse when you consider Miss Rabbit is Mummy Rabbit's sister. Anyhow, Miss Rabbit brings out the remote control with three colored buttons: Blue for the police, red for the fire department and green for the ambulance, since the Red Cross symbol is trademarked. Miss Rabbit then offers Rebecca the remote and Rebecca no sells kicking her leg in fear. The narrator claims that she's nervous as Peppa takes over the controls. The lesson is shown on a projection screen with sliding static images of Miss Rabbit selling her knee as if she has a knee injury, but her arms look like she's holding her stomach in pain while in tears. Either one is acceptable and valid since you call the ambulance for either one. Although the correct scene is a knee injury since it's implied that Miss Rabbit fell off the wooden ladder in front of the shelves. Rebecca actually takes the remote control and pushes the green button to call a doctor. Okay, that's fine. Next slide: Miss Rabbit is a robber with a sack of carrots. Okay, I shouldn't laugh at this one, but I did. They sort of spoiled it by putting it in the thumbnail for this video, but it's much funnier now because I was expecting them not to deliver, but somehow they did. Rebecca chooses the blue button to call the police, DUH! She's right of course. The last one is the worst: A fake fire with a real alarm siren light that causes the kids to cover their not-ears again. I get the fake fire slide, that's fine. What is the point of the siren?! At least have a siren light that flashes without the sounds. This is child abuse. Rebecca is like, "Nope" and pushes the red button for the fire department and that is that as the kids do the buddy system spot stage left, and then they cheer within seconds after getting out. Peppa hugs Rebecca and thanks her as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:08. Good episode, and I never am not amused when the characters have to cover their not-ears to fire up the crowd. *** 1/2 (70%).

Teamwork Challenge: Short opens inside a weird computer room with Peppa Pig, Emily Elephant, Rebecca Rabbit, George Pig, Edmond Elephant and Richard Rabbit wearing dresses with white trim on the bottom running in with glee. Peppa/George wear red, Emily/Edmond wear blue and Rebecca/Richard wear yellow. Yeah, it's primary colors. Miss Rabbit is there with a headset proclaiming that it's time for the "Teamwork Challenge", as per the title card. There are three video games that the kids compete in, but each team is in co-op mode. The big kids are on top, the little kids are on the bottom yellow rectangle. George wants to be on top and Peppa on bottom. Uh-oh! More sibling rivalry exposed. I have never seen these two fight like this in the mainline series, it's alway Peppa Pig Tales. I've seen Peppa punch down on George in the mainline series. Miss Rabbit has bailed to be on the big screen television as the first game is to collect colored balls to place inside the swirly-whirly pipes. The game starts: Emily and Edmond are collecting together and tossing them into the pipe with ease. Rebecca and Richard are passing and their catching the balls suck, but at least they are trying to work together. Peppa and George cannot even get out of the yellow rectangle. Peppa is being a chatterbox and George is literally saying "nope". By the way the team figures out that they need to work together, Miss Rabbit blows the whistle and Emily/Edmond win the first event. Emily and Edmond slap skin as Peppa and George drop the balls and groan. Jump cut to the kids back in the yellow rectangle as Miss Rabbit has change scenes to colored blocks. This time the teams must build a tower using their own colored blocks. I just love how Miss Rabbit's big screen television is really a room for Miss Rabbit to enter and exit when a game is in progress. I've fooled myself multiple times when this happens, because the black rectangle looks like a legit flatscreen television. Back to the game, the whistle is blown and we are off.

Richard and Rebecca mix up blocks as the red block is on top. BUZZ-BUZZ! Wrong block, Richard. No wonder no one likes you anymore. Miss Rabbit then realizes that she violate Anime Dub Rule #12: Thou shalt not rhyme. Because being cool is evil, you see. Rebecca sees the error of their ways as Edmond is literally measuring the block as Emily puts on another block on top. Miss Rabbit calls it being precise, which I'm happy with because precise doesn't mean perfect. Peppa and George make two separate towers in the middle which confuses Miss Rabbit. Two separate ways to win, says Peppa. Too bad, it fails because Rebecca/Richard is the tallest tower and they win with ease as the red tower crumbles into blocks on the ground after Miss Rabbit yells "Stop". Rebecca does the buddy toss on Richard for a while. Miss Rabbit then reminds Peppa and George that teamwork is the key to victory. Well, this assures a tie overall, which is fine because Peppa and George have to do teamwork, or else the lesson is useless. The last game is Shadow Shapes, which is to strike the proper pose within five seconds as Miss Rabbit demonstrates with a shadow T-model of SUZY SHEEP~! And since this is a co-op competition, each team has to pose with two shadows. By the way, this is also elimination rules: If you screw up, you are eliminated as Rebecca/Richard screw up their first pose and they are gone. These writers cannot give Richard Rabbit a break here. So, it's down to Peppa/George against Emily/Edmond and the shadow is...Mr. Dine-e-saur. Talk about driving the SLEDGEHAMMER OF PLOT home here. You can guess who wins without me saying it. Edmond is being a CLEVER CLOGS~ in the worst timing possible I might add. Peppa holds George up, George does the roar and claw spot and they win with ease. Miss Rabbit calls Edmond's attempt unlucky, but very educational. Truer words never spoken. Miss Rabbit declares that everyone won an event as spotlights and confetti fall down on the kids. Everyone is dancing as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:09. This episode was awesome even if the finish was not in doubt. **** (80%).

THE REVIEW LINE

Well, this was mostly a bunch of fun episodes with two standouts. Teamwork Challenge is another great episode from Alison Ray as the Peppa/George sibling rivalry does add a realistic angle that I do not see from the mainline series and it's also nice to see Rebecca and Richard actually trying hard not to suck. The finish was predictable, but it was also way too obvious to me. Of course Peppa and George were going to win and they won with the most obvious pose possible. Kind of took the air out of a really great episode otherwise. Baby Check was also awesome, mostly due to Peppa Pig using ultrasound to interview the baby in the tummy, that was hilarious. However, I don't understand why Mummy Pig needed a sample jar to go to the bathroom because when she returned, the sample jar was gone. I was assuming that Mummy Pig needed a urine/stool sample and it led to nowhere in a really odd logic break. Alison Ray also wrote Jelly Mission, which was a very good episode with an anti-climatic finish which was made up for by Mischief Mummy and Baddie Daddie. Bring these two characters to the main roster in Series 9 show, they are awesomely bad. Overall, a really fun set of shorts with none below ***.

By the way, Baby Check is actually the set up for Peppa Pig Tales #31 which will feature Baby Balloon, the episode where the family discovers the baby's new gender. I have watched the episode: The journey to the reveal was far more interesting than the actual reveal. The reveal has already been leaked on Walmart's website and it'll officially be on Youtube on May 3rd, which how I know about this episode. So...

Thumbs up for Baby Check and Teamwork Challenge. Thumbs in the middle for the rest, and I'll see you all next time.
