Peppa Pig Tales #40 Rant

Reviewed: 02/27/2026

Old School Peppa Pig Is Back! Sort of Part 40!

Well, since Peppa Pig the series has been slowing down and there's only eleven episodes left in the pot, I was going to resume TaleSpin work this year. An easy series that gives me great joy in terms of mockery and enjoyment. There is still lots let to do before I can finally wrap that show up. Sadly, TaleSpin has been delayed until at least 2025, because my second love and enjoyment decided to really run interference on me. How so you ask? Welcome to the Rant Shack: Peppa Pig Tales! And after the very first episode, I cannot resist and I'm going to rant on these "shorts" because Baby Alexander is back and creating a lot more questions than answers. (March 2023 Gregory Weagle Says: Hold it! I have just gotten word that there is no problems with Uncle and Auntie Pig and the family is getting along just fine. You'll see the evidence in Baby Bumps.) Peppa Pig Tales is a series of short 3-3 1/2 minute episodes (Literally up to 75% of an average "Peppasode".) of Peppa Pig doing stuff without the original voices or creators with most of the "filler" cut out. That's basically it. It is awkward listening to this when you are so used to seeing the show, however; it is basically the same in term of premise. So, I'll be doing eight episodes per block like I always do until this series gets sick and tired of this and goes back to the actual Peppa Pig series which has reached eight series up to this point. How do these episodes fare?! Let's rant on shall we..?!

Editor's Note #1: I will no longer be revealing which episodes were done by whomever, since my video source keeps cutting off the endings and it's basically the same six to seven writers anyway.

Editor's Note #2: The new opening now applies to all episodes of Peppa Pig Tales as we are in the Evie era of Peppa Pig both in the mainline series and this show in general.

Baby Albums: Short opens showing pictures of Peppa Pig as a baby doing baby things. Peppa has a bowl on her head as well as Peppa calls it messy while George is playing toys cars inside a cardboard box and out. Evie simply don't care as usual as Mummy Pig and Daddy are sitting on the couch with Peppa inside the sitting room as Valentine hearts are littered on the wall in the background. Mummy Pig is relieved that Peppa and George aren't messy anymore, which they are showing more mess than Evie ever was. The narrator says the title card as the book Peppa is holding is Peppa's baby album. Peppa's cover is green with yellow stars and fancy outlines as Evie is excited. Peppa claims that Evie is asking for her album and both Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig are screwed because there is no baby album for Evie yet since she's still a baby at this point. Mummy Pig claims that it's because of taking care of three kids, while tickling Peppa. Peppa giggles on cue as Daddy Pig decides to create the album right now since he has digital pictures of Evie before she was born. That's where we begin as we get flashbacks from each picture. Picture #1 is in Mummy Pig's bedroom with Peppa reading a blue cover book to Evie in Mummy Pig's tummy. Apparently, the first duck was George cosplaying a duck as he comes in. Mummy Pig is snoring so this was a cure for insomina after all. Peppa talks to the bump as Daddy Pig comes in and takes the picture as shown on the phone. It is wireless to a conveniently placed printer near the 4K television as it prints out the picture. Peppa talks, Evie wiggles. Mummy Pig yawns as somethings never change. Picture #2 is Peppa and George putting pillows on Mummy Pig sitting on a like green cushion chair. They call themselves pillow butt-lers. POW! OUCH! Ummmm...I mean, pillow butlers. Peppa and George are bringing the pillows, including in the bath tub while Mummy Pig is having a bath! It was off-screen sadly. Crowds! The kids or the artists?! That's a good question, actually. Yes, they brought pillows in the kitchen and also after Daddy Pig printed the picture when returning to reality (no, not really). Mummy Pig is amused, Evie is brainstorming this. Picture #3 shows Mummy Pig at a picnic outside eating pickles with a jar of peanut butter. The kids foolishly eat up and literally get grossed out, as if they think Mummy Pig is in a gross out Nickeledeon cartoon. Oh wait...Suzy Sheep and Rebecca Rabbit are the other kids. Daddy Pig takes the picture saying peanut butter pickles and only Peppa Pig likes it enough to do this. George doesn't stop and Suzy and Rebecca are trying to run for the hill. Apparently, someone messed up and there's a jar of peanut butter behind Peppa's head for some reason. The picture is printed out and that is that. Daddy Pig was impressed by this as everyone hugs and this leads to a montage complete with the TEDDY RUXPIN SONG OF DOOM sang by Peppa. We get cosplaying bumps with pillows, cosplaying bumps with pillows and a drawn monster on Mummy Pig's bump as they are also flashbacks. Somehow, they are wearing shoes despite being in night time gear. Then more cosplaying bumps as the kids and Mummy are balancing bowls of popcorn with their worked and shoot bumps in that order. Okay, this is funny, I do admit. Mummy Pig actually wins that battle. Plus, we have another scene at the hospital with Daddy and Mummy Pig as the two parents embrace Evie as it's time for pictures of Evie, but the photo album is almost full. Ooops. The narrator actually commits an error here: He was suppose to say that they need a new album since the album was running out of space, but he said that they need more photos. Ooops. That ends the episode at 3:05. This episode was clearly made before "George" because the angle with George there is not in evidence here. This was a fun episode with a mistake at the end. *** (60%).

Valentine's Spy Mission: Short opens with Peppa and George in black spy gear inside a secret futuristic room as the kids bring out their walkie-talkies as gun to tell Baddie Daddie and Doctor Evilie (Evie with matching Daddy Pig beard who don't give an elf, totally in character.) sitting in a chair. The narrator is so not seeing dollar signs in Baddie Daddie, as Baddie Daddie teases submission, but since his acting is so obviously fake, we know that this feud must continue. I just love how Baddie Daddie is now friends with Evilie despite Daddy Pig thinks Evie is a cute little traitor in storyline. However, before he can beat the charges, his phone on the computer panel vibrates and Baddie Daddie answers it. Yeah, they are in the imagination world, what was the first clue?! We return to reality (no, not really) as Daddy Pig is on the phone with Peppa and George in the dining room. Baddie Daddie is trying to stay in character as it's the Cafe A'More and they inform Daddy Pig that the joint is booked up until next year, because Daddy Pig is booking a popular dining spot for Valentine romance. Daddy Pig is our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Peppa and George don't care because it's time to go bother Mummy Mischief in the kitchen, which in the imagination world is a lab. Sounds not so different to me. Mummy Pig is on the phone looking for a sitter and apparently, Grandpa and Granny Pig are not available for some reason. Daddy Pig comes in and he's still having trouble booking anything. The narrators claim that the adults are too busy to play agents. Geez, you THINK?! Romance is a serious human condition thingie, narrator! Peppa Pig has a plan, which is to create a Valentine's Spy Mission. George is cheering as we jump cut to Peppa and George in their normal gear wearing hair, mustaches and glasses hiding behind a plant inside the dining room. We zoom out to see Daddy Pig and Evie on a laptop as Daddy Pig is ordering something, I don't know. Oh wait, it's flowers and they are sold out! Oh wait, they have delayed delivery time beyond Valentine's Day. Peppa and George jump cut themselves outside and roll like balls in the garden. Basically, they steal flowers and green onions to put into a makeshift package. Then we head to the sitting room as Mummy Pig is sitting on the sofa trying to order a carrot cake, claiming that it's Daddy Pig's favorite. Wait, I thought it was chocolate cake?! Tastes change, I guess. That's not the logic break. The logic break is Peppa Pig is literally an outline as she's literally colored into the wall! Only her legs and arms are colored properly. George is hiding behind the cushions on the sofa. SUZY SHEEP~?! Yup, the bakery ran out of cake and carrots.

Peppa and George go into the kitchen and basically make the most uncooked mess of a carrot cake ever. They also added raisins on top of whip cream, just to make it look messier. George then does the stupidest thing ever: Tries to eat whip cream and then the pressure was so large that both of them spring backwards. Good! Hopefully, this will discourage others from doing this spot in pre-school cartoons ever again. Although that spot will probably blow out his hearing even further now. Now, it's time for entertainment as George decides to do some scouting by dressing up like a reporter and reading the newspaper. Daddy Pig is calling for the musical and of course is booked up until next year I bet. I check the video...Damn, I'm good. Peppa comes out of the closet and proclaims it's time for the secret messages. Jump cut to Mummy Pig in her bedroom deciding which dress to wear as Reporter George Pig appears out of nowhere and hands her a written note. Mummy Pig tries to read the note and is confused as Peppa comes in with her music box and recites a poem. Yes, the poem was supposed to be written by Baddie Daddie. Betcha it was Peppa Pig who forged the hand writing, that cheeky troll. Basically, they will meet downstairs as we scene change to the kitchen with Daddy Pig and Evie looking at the music box, and Evie still doesn't give an elf. Mummy Mischief is on the music box, which I'm sure was a pre-recorded message and they head to the dining room, which is the lab in the imagination world. Baddie Daddie and Doctor Evilie -- that's my booking name of her and I'm sticking to it -- bai stage right as Peppa and George had a fruit bowl and pot on their hands in that order. They are the newest member of the Jungle Aces Secret Midnight Club as Peppa is loving life and George snorts a lot more than usual. Daddy and Mummy are following the heatfelt road to the dining room which is a floor littered with red hearts. Mummy Pig thinks there is a secret from the secret agents as somehow the kids have teleported to inside the dining room. SUZY SHEEP~?! Everyone is inside and outside of the cake on the table, this decorated room is really clean. I was expecting a bigger mess than this actually. Daddy and Mummy love this that they do a worked kiss since it never touches lips. Peppa and George are repulsed by this and Eive is grinning from ear to ear. Evie does not give a fuck. Evie is like "what a bunch of wimps?!". Peppa and George are the true GEEKS OF THE WEEK~! Mummy Pig offers the messy carrot cake of doom to Daddy Pig and Daddy Pig at first is confused, but then eats and likes it. HAHA! Peppa and George sit down with the adults as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:08. Peppa and George slap skin as Peppa states that the mission is complete. Really fun episode, and Peppa and George have got to get over this fake kissing stuff before it becomes a thing if Evie is just going to bury them. *** 1/2 (70%).

Oink And Seek: Short opens in the soft play area as Peppa is ready to play "Oink and Seek". It's like "Hide and Seek" except Peppa snorts to indicate that she's ready to seek and expose. Peppa slides down the slide into the ball pit where George stands there under the slide in an area where all Peppa has to do is turn west and easily find him. Worse, George is snorting back over and over while covering his eyes. George is our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Peppa informs George that she makes the sound, they don't have to make a sound back. Sadly, Rebecca and Richard didn't get the message and they are found near the rollers literally seconds later. More snorting and Suzy baas back and she is found seconds later, hiding behind the giant alphabet blocks. Next up is George's turn to oink and seek as the seeker this time. George yells dine-e-saur and they growl back at him after he covers his eyes. George is seeking around, but for some reason he cannot find anyone. Uh-oh! This is I believe the second episode involving George losing his hearing. George is under the disco ball looking bewildered. Peppa decides to pop up when George returns to the ball pit. George celebrates by jumping into the ball pit and doing a wacky promo. Peppa asks if George needs help and George just runs off stage right. So, the chase continues with George yelling "dine-e-saur", the kids are growling and George ignoring Peppa's directions. Yup, he needs that audiologist soon. Hopefully, we don't get a situation where George gets the hearing aid on Peppa Pig Tales BEFORE "Hearing Test" debuts, that would suck. George cannot find anything, so scene change to George on the swing set as Peppa struggles to get to George since George has given up. Peppa decides to help him find them slower and George tackles Peppa down and they bury themselves in the ball pit. That was funny. George and Peppa take it slow this time as they find Suzy Sheep inside the tube slide. They do it again near the blocks, slowly, and George finds Richard Rabbit behind the colored blocks since his rabbit ears were showing. They are in the place where the disco ball is and Rebecca is a good hider. George throws a beach ball away. Somehow this turns on the mood lighting and it's DISCO FEVER, DISCO FEVER, DISCO FEVER, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH~! Then Rebecca dances in doing the moonwalk and bumps into George just like that. What a dork?! Rebecca Rabbit is the DORK OF THE WEEK~! All the kids come in to pop for George as the narrator says it all. The music and mood lighting stops, but George pushes the red music button to resume the fever to end the episode at 3:05. Although there were signs of hearing loss, this felt like a regular episode of George just going at it too fast. If the narrator wasn't involved, maybe the hearing loss would be the cause. Either way, another good outing for Alison Ray. **** (80%). I wish these reviews were this short, too.

Watermelon Experiments: Short opens with a video of an office as a watermelon is on a table laced with color rubber bands. We are inside the kitchen of the grandparents with the adults and the kids eating watermelons that have ransacked the house. Yes, Evie is nibbling on watermelon as Peppa asks if there are any more watermelons as it's 5 PM on the clock. Apparently, Grandpa Pig bought the watermelon from an on-line store, implying that he got one digit wrong unintentionally. I know this because Grandpa Pig is blushing with embarassment. Some things never change. Grandpa Pig surprisely explains that it was the store that got it wrong since he wanted twenty of green and purple grapes. Okay, I can buy that argument. We continue on watching the video as the watermelon explodes and makes a mess all over the kitchen. I think we know where this is going. Granny Pig proclaims that they will not do this because it's a waste of a watermelon. She's daring this angle to happen, don't say that! Watermelons rot easily anyway, so why not?! It's not even Grandpa Pig's fault that the store got the order wrong, so be like Mike and do it! Watermelon juice is harmless. Just don't eat the seeds, which you don't do when eating it normally. Then Granny Pig finally admits that it's time to do some Watermelon Experiments, pretty much accepting the dare. HAHA! Grandpa's look when she says it is "are you serious?". I howled with laughter. He knows where this is going now. Everyone dresses up like surgeons with protective eye gear, just to assure no one gets hurt. Experiment #1 is Peppa and George are teasing making jack-o-lanterns out of watermelons. Which is actually safer for me since watermelon pulp doesn't make me vomit like pumpkin pulp does. Vastly different smells. Grandpa Pig is using a blender to create watermelon juice, but cannot get the top on because Peppa Pig turns the thing on beforehand. Peppa Pig is a troll. Thankfully, the top is on before more damage can be done to Grandpa Pig's brain as we have watermelon smoothies, which would be fine if there is milk added. Otherwise, it's just juice. Peppa bails to find the cups, but then Grandpa Pig cuts that off because the watermelons are blocking everything, so let's have hallowed out watermelons as the mugs. Hey, that works, too. Everyone drinks up, including Evie who is in the chair drinking from the corkscrew straw sippie cup. The kids and adults at table have corkscrew straws as well. Peppa then has a brainfart as she teases putting her mug in the garbage bin. However, that gets cut off by Granny Pig because we have more experiments to do with the watermelon.

Don't lose it if you can use it, which is a reasonable saying. Next scene, they sort of make jack-o-lanterns. More watermelons are used anyway, so I maybe they should have gone with the enviromental message of recycling here if they weren't going to use it anymore. Peppa makes funny faces with a wedge of watermelon, that was funny. George uses the ends to make eyes, Evie love it and doesn't give a...you guessed it. Evie is more well behaved and less scared than George in his early years. They also did watermelon constume as Peppa is a frog and George is Tiddles the Tortoise. Sadly, George is probably not good at climbing trees. We then see Peppa hopping away as George tries to start the chase; but the turtle helm gets into his eyes, he knocks down a box of salt (I think) and then flops on his back and somehow the watermelon shell does not smash on cue. SUZY SHEEP~?! Peppa hops in with the broom and dustpan to clean up as Granny Pig declares that the substance that fell on the floor is baking soda. They repeat the saying as they are ready for one last experiment. If you cannot guess the final messy spot right now, you have no business reading this rant. Yup, it's the baking soda volcano experiment, with red food coloring, washing liquid, baking soda and a hollowed out watermelon shell. The washing liquid is just there so red bubble can come out and pop the kids in the face, that also amused Evie. Damn, all that crying in the early episodes of Peppa Pig Tales got the crying out of Evie's system that fast, didn't it?! It took George about six series in the mainline series before they reeled that spot in. They do the spot, it looks fine as Daddy Pig comes in, because we all know that we must make Daddy Pig look like the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Then Grandpa Pig drops the baking soda into the watermelon volcano, and we get an overdramatic ducking scene in slow motion that ends with some watermelon juice spitting out, but otherwise, the place is clean, minus the table which was to be expected anyway. Damn, I was expecting a lot more than that. That mess was muted, Grandpa Pig, it was not a huge mess. Peppa and George slap skin and hug Evie as the narrator says it all. Grandpa Pig decides to continue the experiment to make more mess to end the episode at 3:05. The mess didn't expand all that much though. Another great outing from Alison Ray, although I hope Evie cries more because it would be sad if she cannot express true feelings due to fans thinking that this is annoying. **** 1/4 (85%).

Cinema Trip: Short opens in the theater with Miss Rabbit playing usher...AGAIN! The Pig Family are walking and trying to get their seats while excusing themselves. Audience: Mr. Bull, Mrs. Cow, Doctor Brown Bear in scrubs (WHY?!), Mummy Dog, Captain Dog, Doctor Hamster, Gigi Gazelle, Reggie Rabbit, and the Two Mummies~! Yes, Evie is being held by Daddy Pig and somehow didn't get crushed. Peppa and George are sitting on pillows on their seats. Almost everyone has bags of popcorn, as Mummy Dog looks like she regretted not getting her own. The narrator tries to do his opening spiels and everyone basically shuts him up. HAHA! Considering that this is the third episode involving George's hearing loss, this is them letting the narrator know what the purpose of this episode is. The narrator whisper yells and this doesn't improve the episode. Peppa and George cannot be quiet to save their lives, those cheeky trolls. Then the movie starts with Shapes Productions, and it's so loud that Mummy Pig is already complaining about the noise. Daddy Pig put yellow ear muffs on Evie and she's asleep. I'm disappointed because I was hoping Evie wasn't wearing them and is so happy because Evie doesn't give an elf is her gimmick and it's glorious. Mummy Pig screeches and she is shushed by the adults. HAHA! By the way, I have gotten on these writers cases for families abandoning children in the past on this show, where is Penny Polar Bear and Danny Dog?! I get the two mummies being together in itself is perfectly fine, but why watch a movie just for kids?! I'm not saying the movie is good or anything, but still... This gimmick needs to end. Not the two mummies! The abandonment gimmick. Mummy Pig apologizes, giggles abound and we watch the SquashPuff Movie, which is basically the Emoji Movie, only it's not a movie in real life, so no one cares. George is enjoying his popcorn so much, he's making eating noises to annoy the crowd. Mummy Pig pleads for George to quiet down, but George just goes louder. HAHA! This is not hearing loss, this is the natural response of the crowd being louder when the heel tells everyone to shut up in professional wrestling. Also seems to work with refs in legit sports like American rules football as I have discovered. Peppa cannot calm down George as George plays with the bucket for a while.

Daddy Pig decides to sit next to George to assist him calming down as he says "kids, eh?" in a normal voice and the crowd shushes Daddy Pig. HAHA! We get a fusion ha from the SquashPuffs as Evie teases waking up and then she decides to sleep. Mummy Pig breathes a sigh of relief because they were this close to killing her glorious gimmick. Scene change to later in the movie, as George is bored, so he bounces his head back in the chair and this is where it might be time to have George see a doctor, because he's might get a concussion at this rate. George is also hurting Doctor Polar Bear's knee as well and Daddy Pig has to step in to stop that one. Daddy Pig give him Mr. Dine-e-saur and that was a stupid move because it only makes George laugh with such glee. He jumps out of his chair and plays with Mr. Dine-e-saur with a bucket on it's head. Okay, that was funny. However, Daddy Pig is our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Mummy and Peppa bail to get George and Daddy Pig whispers the apology and the crowd basically shushes him, which is more of a "fuck off" for the toy dinosaur thingie than anything else. Mummy Pig catches George and takes him back to his seat, as Peppa notices the bucket, makes the mistake of talking and she gets the shush treatment. Peppa blushes and then bails back to her seat. The music is loud, but Evie doesn't give an elf and sleeps through it. Then, the only part of the movie worth talking about: Mrs. Duck in pre-Golden Boots era walks in as the SquashPuffs all bail. Mrs. Duck quacks as Daddy Pig says it all because Evie wakes and she's happy, but still doesn't give a fuck. The crowd has had enough, Miss Rabbit has also had enough, and the family is kicked out of the cinema. Sort of. The family apologizes profusely for their actions as Miss Rabbit forgives and offers them the family screening. Wait, you went to the cinema and decided to go for general seating?! DUCKING BULLSHEET~! So, this is an idiot plot then?! Betcha Daddy Pig bought the tickets, too. What a bunch of geeks?! Anyhow, they go into the family theater as Granddad Dog, Danny Dog, Suzy Sheep, Mummy Sheep, Rebecca Rabbit, Mummy Rabbit, Rosie and Robbie Rabbit are watching the movie from there. Where's Penny Polar Bear?! Miss Rabbit and the narrator say it all as the family take their seats dancing to end the episode at 3:04. This was okay, although that finish was stupid. ** 3/4 (55%).

Another Note I Missed: This is actually the fourth episode where they focused on George's hearing loss. The very first episode featuring this was "Video Call", which was two episodes before "George" officially aired. I know this because the sound wave effects around George's ears were there in the thumbnail of "Video Call". This is "Clubhouse Adventure" all over again with the Two Mummies being outed by Penny before "Families" officially aired! Incredible!

Race Cars: Short opens on a colorful race track with Peppa Pig, Rebecca Rabbit and Danny Dog racing in karts with track gear and helmets on. Danny Dog in yellow is in the lead, but I betcha the yellow bellied eat sucking puppie will lose by either losing like the plucky guy who cannot win, or win and be rendered a tie by Miss Rabbit. Peppa Pig in red is in second, and Rebecca Rabbit in blue is in third. Suzy Sheep in pink is trying to make the comeback as we see Granddad Dog, Daddy Pig and Miss Rabbit looking on as Danny Dog wins the race outright! Wow! Pedro F'N Pony in green is in last place, proving Kermit the Frog right. Peppa finishes fourth by the way. The narrator finishes his promo as I realize that the race is not over yet! Okay, that one is on me, I'll own that mistake on my part. Yes, the karts are literally Mario Kart and they adhere to Mario Kart rules as the floor contains arrows that make you go fast as Suzy hits one thinking she's won, but the speed forces her to crash out and out of the race for the moment. It was so bad that Miss Rabbit didn't get the finish her promo of "slow and steady". Suzy blames her steering wheel as too spinny. Sure Suzy Sheep, sure. Miss Rabbit tells her to speak to their mechanic about it and then pulls the kart back to allow Suzy to resume the race. Yes the karts are pedal karts, why do you ask?! Danny is dominating the race now, which means he's losing this one hard. Miss Rabbit says "slow and steady" as he hits the bump and crashes out. Told ya, he's a plucky loser who cannot win. Now it's Pedro Pony taking the lead as the narrator says it all. Remember when the narrator was one of the best parts of this brand?! Maybe "Simple Science" did cause some bad things after all, like the narrator unable to top his "Everyone loves being dug out of concrete!" line. Danny Dog blames the pedals for his own stupidity. Sure, Danny Dog, sure. Miss Rabbit pulls the kart back talking about the pedals being "naughty" as she is wearing the same design outfit Danny is. Danny returns and now everyone has learned nothing because they blame the hardware instead of their own coding abilities. Geez, a perfect analogy of video games nowadays when Nintendo Switch is around to cause havoc. There are numbers on the kart: Peppa is #1, Rebecca is #2, Suzy is #4 and Danny Dog is #5. I guess Pedro Pony is #3. I'm going to watch the results of this and see what happens.

More racing and faltering as Pedro is smart and everyone else is dumb because slow and steady wins. Everyone not moving is blaming the car instead of themselves for going too fast and Daddy Pig is having a chuckle, so he's ShadowFox Infinite's soulmate. Oh, and here comes the bad episode police to give a parking ticket to Daddy Pig's car. HAHA! That shut that one down, even if the kids earned that chuckling. Daddy Pig is still our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! By the way, it was Officer Panda putting the ticket on the car. Daddy Pig panics and runs out as Peppa is now having issues with her kart. She crashes into the foam color block barrier. Yup, this is literally Mario Kart now. Peppa comes out of the carnage saying that the fan was at fault, as Miss Rabbit decides to talk to the weatherman. Miss Rabbit knows that the kids are full of themselves and cannot accept that they were in the wrong and refuse to slow down. At this point, saying "it's not a race" would be a good idea. In the background, Daddy Pig and Officer Panda are doing a staredown, I was hoping Officer Panda would arrest Daddy Pig for something, I don't know. The race is over as Pedro Pony wins the race, wearing colors of a turtle. The best part is that Granddad Dog is cheering this on like Pedro's his son. HAHA! Just buries Danny Dog deep within the earth on that one. Pedro cuts the promo as everyone drives in frowning like the Rock Lobster Yeti screwed up their faces. Blocks are coming out of Peppa's car as she asks how can Pedro win going slow. Pedro points out that if you slow down you won't crash. Pedro just made the kids look like complete geeks and I love it. It's rare to see Pedro being the smart one for a change. I guess Pedro is an XBOX fanboy now. At the worst possible time, I might add. Miss Rabbit offers the kids to practice going slow and they actually do this for a while to kill time in a three minute episode. Suzy and Peppa are being considerate to each other. Not needed, but nice. It is practice after all. Danny does the worst successful turn around the corners, it literally looks like an old 1980's video game. More slow driving as the race ends in a draw as usual, although this is fine because it was practice anyway. The kids get out of the cars happy as Granddad Dog lifts Danny Dog for a hug. The kids cheer as Daddy Pig returns grumpy because he thinks this is highway robbery. What a hypocrite?! The narrator says it all as Daddy Pig stops selling to end the episode at 3:07. A fun episode and nothing more. *** 1/2 (70%).

Painting With Evie: Short opens at Granny Sheep's art van as Mummy Pig, Peppa Pig, George Pig, Evie Pig, and SUZY SHEEP~ are at the table under the canopy. Granny Sheep is pouring colored paint into various molds, but forgets to fill George's up as the narrator says the name of the episode title. This episode aired before it was supposed to, so I assume it's "Painting With Evie". Peppa has blue paint, Suzy has purple paint, Evie has yellow and is already messy although they are wearing red paint guards on themselves. George of course has Mr. Dine-e-saur who is also protected by the splash paint guards. Okay, he doesn't want paint splashed on the toy, makes sense to me. George doesn't have any green paint, so Granny Sheep decides to do some sharing is caring with the blue and yellow paints. Hey, sharing is science too, you know. Evie don't care and grabs the paintbrush to twirl paint because Evie doesn't give a damn. Mummy Pig takes the brush back, and I boo. I so much love Evie when she doesn't give a damn. Granny Sheep gets the brush and they mix the blue and yellow to form green and that is that. It's time to paint pictures and Peppa suddenly has weightlifting issues on the scene changer. There is a poster wall for the picture, which includes a too well painted portait of Granny Sheep. I guess this was her self-portait. She looks at some of the painting and Granny Sheep proclaims that to find the meaning, you must look harder. She's awesome. Peppa not only looks way too hard, she's focusing on Evie and Evie is not giving a fuck. Mummy Pig is giggling, so she's finally onto Evie now. Granny Sheep actually explains the colorful clouds painting: It is supposed to be symbolic for the mountains of the mist, which the clouds are mist. Evie is basically yellow hand painting with her prints on paper. Peppa finally gets inspired and paints a blue sky. It's now a mist moutain with Evie's prints. HAHA! Did I mention how much I love Evie as a character on this show?! Apparently, the paint is so sticky that Evie cannot remove her paws from the paper. Or she's trolling Peppa, which is even better in hindsight.

She's trolling because the paint unsticks without damage and now the painting out of nowhere has green blotches. SUZY SHEEP~?! Oh wait, Suzy's here. Not a good look on me. George paints the most brainrotted dinosaur in the history of cartooning. Somehow, it's better than 99.9% of most brainrot. We all know the best brainrot is Chargeman Ken. Evie is like "I challenge thee" and she palms the dinosaur picture with yellow paint. HAHA! George is gravely offended by this sleight on his brainrot. I love this, but George has a point: Evie is not beating Chargeman Ken. Sorry Evie, it's true. You have to accept it. The kids are frowning, Mummy Pig profusely apologizes and Evie still doesn't give a...you guessed it. This apology is not working, Mummy Pig. Evie then palms Mummy Pig with paint. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Told you she doesn't have a remorse bone in her body. Yet. Mummy Pig is our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Sharing is caring as Granny Pig thinks Evie didn't mean to be naughty. So what?! I love Evie being naughty. You're not wrong Granny Sheep about it be unintentional, but that's what makes it funny. Suzy Sheep is like "she's enabling Evie" with that stare. Granny Sheep suggests to look at the meaning and try harder. George ponders this over and is happy now to roar because the prints are yellow teeth. Mr. Dine-e-saur's self-portait. Peppa finally gets it because she hangs the picture up on the wall and calls it "Ducks On A Mountain". Not a bad name for the painting. The kids decide to share in one big painting as Suzy Sheep has painted flowers and cuts them out to put with the "Ducks On A Mountain", along with the brainrot dinosaur. Peppa explains the painting as Evie has somehow magically teleported the brush from earlier and throws it at the art to create a brainrot sun. Close, but no Evie. Peppa is confused and then finishes her promo as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:02. This episode was awesome! Granny Sheep + Evie messing around and everyone finding out is an automatic **** 1/4 (85%).

Dragon Dasher: Short opens with Peppa and George in the sitting room playing video games. No surprise, it's a Peppa Pig game in the knights era as Knight Peppa is picking up diamonds. She finished up with a score of 9000. Don't say the line Vegeta, unless it's newer dubs or the original Japanese line. George wants to play as the narrator called the game "Dragon Dasher". I don't think this is going to be as great as Carrot Catcher was. As I suspected, The Peach Station always wins, baby! They are winning. Oh great, I sound like Donald Trump now. That's horrifying. Apparently, you can play as a rabbit on the title screen and apparently, as George. I guess those are the Mii's on this platform. George thinks the dragon is a dinosaur of course. I think this is the fifth episode involving George's hearing issues. Peppa corrects him because dragons are fake and dinosaur were real but are dead now. So, we play the game as Peppa and George literally pick themselves as knights. George is not terrible that following instructions here. He's doing well for his first time. Peppa mentions that in the game, you collect gems and then hide behind trees when the dragon roar sounds. One problem: George understands the instructions, but cannot hear the dragon's roar even though we do. The red dragon swoops down on-screen and kidnaps Knight George away. Uh-oh! George cries in sorrow as his gem count is now at zero. Peppa giggles, not realizing that she is punching down on George because George's hearing is dying before our very eyes and ears. We do the next stage involving logs and rocks. George does well, but cannot hear the dragon roar. Peppa hides behind the rocks. Now the logical thing to do if you cannot hear the dragon's roar is to mimic Peppa Pig's character and hide with her. George pushes the wrong stick and does a disco dance in the middle of the game, before the dragon kidnaps George...AGAIN! Okay, that was funny.

Third stage has a lot of bushes, George cannot hear the roar still and thus gets kidnapped again, losing 400 points this time. Peppa is browbeating George for not hearing the dragon's roar. At this point, I would say: Okay, George; follow my lead. That way, George at least has an idea of when the dragon roar occurs even if he doesn't hear it. Instead, Peppa wants to play on her own and tries to steal the controller from George. George bails with the controller protesting as they are falling out again. Daddy Pig enters the sitting room with Evie, and that stare of Evie is priceless. Evie has a bloodlust for those kids falling out. If they cannot get along, they got to get it on. We exchange notes as Daddy Pig explains that if someone doesn't work, try something else. Peppa has a plan: Dress George as a knight as use a recorder as the sword to knight him. Okay, that was funny. Peppa tries to simulate the dragon's roar and uses Mr. Dine-e-saur as the dragon, and it bonks off of George. That didn't work. Peppa then decides to try a different noise. George is now playing the game as Peppa tries different noises, but George keeps losing because his hearing is dying on him and no one realizes it. Next, Peppa uses a toy car siren and that works as George hides! Turns out it was the flashing light that gives George the signal to hide. Daddy Pig and George Pig are now playing the game while Peppa is playing the toy car while flashing lights to amuse Evie and give George the well timed signal to hide. Sadly, Daddy Pig hasn't played the game properly as he does the taunt and gets kidnapped. He was playing the rabbit knight. Daddy Pig of course, has to be the GEEK OF THE WEEK~ as the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:07. A perfectly fun episode, but this hearing angle must continue and I don't know what the endgame is in Peppa Pig Tales right now. *** 1/4 (65%).

THE REVIEW LINE

Well, we had mostly fun shorts as Painting With Evie and Watermelon Experiments were great as Grandpa Pig's mistake with the watermelon which was not his fault this time turned into Watermelon art and Evie and Granny Sheep provided all the entertainment I ever wanted. Evie is such a great character on the show and even though she is a one joke character, she's really getting hilariously creative with that gimmick. Daddy Pig calling her a "cute little traitor" is not far off the base, if you know what I mean. The "George's hearing loss" episodes weren't as great though. Oink & Seek was very good, but the rest felt like Peppa was punching down unintentionally (Dragon Dasher) and George looking like such a terror with an idiot plot finish (Cinema Trip). The rest of the episodes are fun enough and I'm looking forward to seeing "Hearing Test" which should air on Milkshake in early March. I've been wondering where the endgame is for Peppa Pig because we are almost nearing the end of the contract for new Peppa Pig episodes (the contact is supposed to be finished sometime in 2027) and outside of "Hearing Test", there is nothing known about episodes after that. Overall, this was a good set of shorts and Evie's my favorite character on Peppa Pig Tales now. So...

Thumbs up for Oink and Seek, Painting With Evie and Watermelon Experiments. Thumbs in the middle for the rest, and I'll see you all next time.
