Peppa Pig Tales #44 Rant
Reviewed: 06/26/2026
Old School Peppa Pig Is Back! Sort of Part 44!
Well, since Peppa Pig the series has been slowing down and there's only eleven episodes left in the pot, I was going to resume TaleSpin work this year. An easy series that gives me great joy in terms of mockery and enjoyment. There is still lots let to do before I can finally wrap that show up. Sadly, TaleSpin has been delayed until at least 2025, because my second love and enjoyment decided to really run interference on me. How so you ask? Welcome to the Rant Shack: Peppa Pig Tales! And after the very first episode, I cannot resist and I'm going to rant on these "shorts" because Baby Alexander is back and creating a lot more questions than answers. (May 2026 Gregory Weagle Says: Hold it! Everyone in the Pig family except for Auntie Dottie is back! Uncle Pig, Auntie Pig and Cousin Chole are still a full family and life goes on!) Peppa Pig Tales is a series of short 3-3 1/2 minute episodes (Literally up to 75% of an average "Peppasode".) of Peppa Pig doing stuff without the original voices or creators with most of the "filler" cut out. That's basically it. It is awkward listening to this when you are so used to seeing the show, however; it is basically the same in term of premise. So, I'll be doing eight episodes per block like I always do until this series gets sick and tired of this and goes back to the actual Peppa Pig series which has reached eight series up to this point. How do these episodes fare?! Let's rant on shall we..?!
Editor's Note #1: I will no longer be revealing which episodes were done by whomever, since my video source keeps cutting off the endings and it's basically the same six to seven writers anyway.
Editor's Note #2: The new opening now applies to all episodes of Peppa Pig Tales as we are in the Evie era of Peppa Pig both in the mainline series and this show in general.
Editor's Note #3: We are now in the post-George's hearing loss era.
Walkabout: Short opens in the play room as Evie bawls her eyes out within seconds as Daddy Pig is trying to calm her down. I guess the writers felt Evie was way too happy in this show and they are having her bawl now. That could backfire in their faces if they are not careful here. We discover that Evie's toy duck Quack Quack is missing as Peppa and George and Mummy Pig are in the room searching for it. The kids are already in their pjs for some reason as George is sitting on the job amused, but Peppa is tired. Mummy Pig decides it's time for the kids to go to bed and now Peppa is complaining about not helping as she leaves the room with George and Mummy Pig. Peppa is having weightlifting issues again, I see. George is so disappointed as he leaves. We head to Peppa's bedroom as Mummy Pig tucks Peppa in for the night. Mummy Pig tells her not to worry about Quack Quack because toys can walkabout, you see. You wish you were Hey Duggee, show! Mummy Pig then kisses Peppa and leaves, Peppa reaction is so goofy that I swear she just got shocked. Mummy Pig dims the lights on the way out as Peppa is yawning and talking to Teddy as if Teddy was an anthro. Peppa falls asleep because of course she does. It's already happened with the tooth fairy and now we get the worst dream sequence effects ever as Peppa wakes up and Teddy has disappeared. Yup, Teddy has finally broken free from Peppa Pig's abuse and sneaks out of the room. Sadly, Teddy sucks at the fine art of not being seen, because Peppa sees him leave and follows him out of the room into the hallway. Evie is still bawling her eyes out off-screen as Teddy sneaks into the playroom, I think. Peppa follows Teddy into the playroom as Teddy is throwing away stuff, and sucking at it. Peppa hides behind a blue seat as Teddy whistles and out comes Mr. Dine-e-saur, Squashpuff and a robot.
Teddy has a toy telescope and looks into it as Peppa deduces that Teddy is looking for Quack Quack. Me, I think he's looking for Peppa in order to make his escape from this hellscape. Peppa yells "yes" and the toys all play dead as Peppa hides again. The toys revive within seconds and bail out of the playroom as Peppa follows them. Peppa finds robot in the sitting room scanning with green beams on top of Mark. Peppa then hides again behind what appears to be the transmitter apparatus for Mark as Daddy Pig notices that it's just Mark, while ignoring the robot. Scene changer as Peppa is near the kitchen as Teddy and Squashpuff are on top of a cupboard searching for Quack Quack. Teddy does some acrobatics to land on the floor as Squashpuff's moves sucks so much, pictures fall down. Peppa giggles and searches the storage room, but Mr. Dine-e-saur searches a box with a lot of hay, but no sign of Quack Quack. Mr. Dine-e-saur manages to slam the door on Peppa's face on the way out as it leaves. Teddy decides to look in the most logical place to look, the bathroom. Sure enough, in the bathtub, there is Quack Quack. The toys are all trying to get Quack Quack out of the bathtub, but Quack Quack pulls them in. Mummy Pig hears something, Peppa bails to her room and goes to bed. Off-screen, you can hear Mummy Pig noticing where Quack Quack is as Daddy Pig joins in. Peppa starts sleeping as we get the water splash effects again to signify that the dream is over and Peppa wakes up as it's morning and Teddy has return to right where he was before the dream started. Peppa is confused because Teddy was in the bathtub. Peppa climbs down and walks with Teddy to the kitchen where the family is eating. Except for Daddy Pig, who is picking up pictures and blaming the magnet. Maybe this wasn't a dream after all. Evie has Quack Quack in her high chair and now is back to not giving an elf. Mummy Pig proclaims that the toys were in the bathtub as Teddy's eye sparkles. Peppa Pig says it all to end the episode at 3:07. This was okay, and I wish they wouldn't try to invoke Hey Duggee spots since no one is topping Hey Duggee in absurdity in a pre-school show. ** 1/2 (50%).
Sleepover With Chloe: Short opens inside Peppa's bedroom as it's nighttime and Peppa and Cousin Chloe are having a sleepover. They are dancing with buckets of popcorn and making a mess while the narrator explains the obvious to us. They eat popcorn and say sleepover to force the point. Chloe is trying out a yellow night robe that looks like a fur coat and yellow slippers, while Peppa is bouncing in a purple sleeping bag. Peppa is wearing the red sleeping gear and slippers, as they are all fuzzy, like cartoon logic actually. Peppa then sees a problem: Teddy and Dolly are on the bottom bed and Peppa has to hide them with a green blanket, because you see; Peppa is still yearning to be a big girl now. Her security is shaken, methinks. Chloe is asking what she said and Peppa covers the plushies and says nothing. Peppa then pushes Chloe as Chloe has a bag containing what seems to be beauty items in green color bottles. Meanwhile, Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig, Auntie Pig and Uncle Pig are having tea in the kitchen, along with Evie and Alexander having juice in their sippy bottles. George is sitting there doing nothing. Someone please get him a glass of apple juice, I beg of you! Evie is raspberrying Alexander because she and Alexander do not give an elf. Then the adults stop giving an elf and do the same. George is the only one who cares about this. George puts the headphones on and listens to music as we jump cut back to the table of the tea party with Chloe dumping her beauty stuff on the table. Peppa is trying out Chloe's makeup stuff as Chloe shows her image on a red pocket mirror and Peppa likes it. Daddy Pig arrives with mugs of coco with rainbow colored whip cream on a tray. Peppa shows herself and she is officially the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Mostly for the sparkling cheek, everything else is within the boundaries of good taste. Daddy Pig is so shocked that the whip cream nearly got knocked up the air; but he recoils and likes it. Wait, hot chocolate is kiddie?! Sod off, you troll! Peppa Pig wants broccoli instead, so she's Sora from Digimon 01. Daddy Pig decides to play along and places the hot chocolate on the table just in case. Daddy Pig leaves as Chloe's next suggestion is to defer to Peppa on what the play. Peppa is now having serious weightlifting issues because she's insecure about her kid choices, you see.
Chloe decides to bring out of nowhere two magazines, including Ezza and Skppr. Peppa is fine with reading Skppr and Chloe reads Ezza. Nothing changes, nothing changes. We return to the sitting room as Daddy Pig is setting up the giant matteress with pillows for Uncle Pig and Auntie Pig. Evie is having a staring contest with Alexander and Alexander is clearly losing, because he's corpsing. The blanket is set up as George flops on the bed to demonstrate the air matteress and how soft it is. Then the matteress screws George and the air comes out of it like a balloon. HAHA! Mummy Pig says it all and they all laugh. Jump back to Peppa and Chloe as it's time for some scary stories. Yes, they are sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor and not in the double bunk beds as I expected. Chloe wants the green blanket on the bottom bunk bed and Peppa screams in slow motion "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Not only is she inflating her ego by not them sleeping in the bunk beds, but she's so insecure about Chloe seeing toys, despite there being a unicorn just behind Chloe when she removes the blanket. Peppa grabs the plushies and claims that they are not hers. Chloe's smile says it all, she knows that this is bullshit. Turns out, Chloe loves plushies. Just to make Peppa look like a complete fool. Then George shows up saying "and dinosaurs". Oh crap, he can pronounce dinosaur properly. Yup, George is just another kid on this show now. Chloe invites George in to play and they play tea party for awhile. The narrator says it all as Chloe says it all as well, in a different way. She was almost out of bounds on that promo. I'll leave that promo as an exercise to the reader. Everyone cheers and then we hear laughter as Chloe, Peppa and George walk into the sitting room and they are playing war games with pillows. Uncle Pig is hiding in the cave of doom. Mummy Pig holding Evie while swinging with the pillow is comedy to me as Auntie Pig and Baby Alexander are like "nope, I'm done" hiding behind the den. Peppa says it all as everyone laughs to end the episode at 3:06. This was a fun episode, and it's amazing that Chloe is finally getting full time Peppa Pig Tales episodes along with Auntie Pig after all the fear I had about them being divorced. Then I remembered, this show already did that angle with Lorenzo Lion and his family! *** 1/4 (65%).
Mural: Short opens outside in a meadow with Playgroup setting up a giant piece of paper or a white piece of cloth. Kids: Peppa Pig, Candy Cat, Danny Dog, Emily Elephant, SUZY SHEEP~, Edmond Elephant and Mandy Mouse as Gigi Gazelle enters and...oh wait, also, Pedro F'N Pony! Yes, he got buried and is a clueless putz, AGAIN~! They set up the sheet of cloth as Gigi proclaims that this is a "Father's Day Mural". Okay, why they didn't call it "Father's Day Mural" in the episode title is stupid. If you want to be inclusive, just have Gigi call it a mural instead. Peppa mispronounces mural and Suzy claims that she works at the post office. Okay, someone is reading my rants (no, they aren't) because Suzy's reference mirrors the post chipmunk from Hey Duggee who mispronounces names and is such television death to me that I had to apologize to EUGENE for mistaking HIM for that post officer! Edmond is a clever clogs, wah-wah. Why can't they use the stock sounds from the mainline series when they should be allowed to, instead of creating new audio that makes people consider that generative AI is in play here?! Gigi shoos Edmond away as it's just a big picture according to her. Hey, Edmond camoflauging a six dollar term is at least funny because he's not doing it out of malice, nor bloodlust. Suzy Sheep is not letting this post office thingie go and now Gigi gets the wah-wah. Gigi unrolls the blue cover containing all the paints, markers and pencils because we are going to draw daddies because it's father day. Again, just draw families instead. There is one problem with this and you can spot it right away: SUZY SHEEP~ had no known father! So she is excluded from this mural by default! Suzy don't care as we see the kids going to the utensils and we scene change to everyone painting, drawing and making a mess in that order. Daddy Cat is painted as Not Daddy Cat, with orange paint. Please, for the love of life, pull the trigger on Candy Cat having two daddies right fucking now! I'm tired of this inconsistency here, and it only makes the show look like bigots. And not for the reason you might think, actually. They drew a giant star on the top right. Daddy Elephant looks like an evil dentist, just to make dentists look uncool. Daddy Rabbit looks like a magician, Captain Dog looks himself. Suzy Sheep's drawing...I'll get to that in a second.
Apparently, Mr. Rabbit is a building inspector now, after being an office worker in the mainline series. Of course, Edmond cannot say "fight tooth decay", it has to sound sciency to confuse Gigi Gazelle, AGAIN~! Suzy Sheep's drawing is Mummy Sheep because she's a mommy and daddy. She's bi-sexual then. Okay, good to know. Gigi is calling it wonderful, because of course! They accepted two mummies, so why not?! Peppa Pig is now having weightlifting issues on her daddy, the same girl that drew Daddy Pig watching television while sitting on the sofa during an art class in drawing their favorite fruits and veggies. BS&P SUCKZ~! Peppa then claims that she has too many things to draw, 99% of them would no long past muster with Nickelodeon nowadays. Then Peppa gets inspired and draws FIVE different pictures: One is the new car, one is Daddy Pig turning George into a dinosaur (that was funny!), Daddy Pig helping a marathon runner with a knee injury, Daddy Pig dressed up like a robot and the last one is Daddy Pig with red lipstick on the lips. Peppa says it all as Daddy Pig enters the field like a minute too early. He is like me when I go to work, or keep an appointment: He's way too early. Peppa and Daddy hug after Daddy Pig sheds a tear we don't see. Then, Gigi Gazelle sets up the mural as Daddy Mouse is on the top right looking like nothing. There is a red smiley face in the mural and a lot of sploshes of paint. It's a kids painting painted by four year olds, what did you expect?! Edmond is a clever clog, but with average artist skills in the same vein as Arn Anderson's carpently skills. Peppa recaps the pictures as Daddy Pig was saving the princess party and yes, all of the pictures are animated now. SUZY SHEEP~?! Apparently, the car drive defies the laws of gravity as they were in space. Huge, if true. Peppa then shows off picture number five as everyone is confused. Peppa explains that it's Daddy Pig kissing Peppa goodnight and Daddy Pig is emotional. Awww, my heart melted. Daddy Pig loves it as he hugs Peppa while a scene changer occurs with the narrator saying it all. Mr. Rabbit, Mr. Elephant and Mummy Sheep arrive to take the kids home to show off the mural in full to end the episode at 3:07. One of the problems with this ending is that Daddy Cat, Captain Dog and Daddy Mouse did not arrive and that makes me sad. Good episode otherwise. *** 1/2 (70%).
Baby Evie At The Aquarium: Short opens at the aquarium as Daddy Pig is taking a selfie of himself and his family. This allows Miss Rabbit to swim in the background in one of the tanks as a mermaid. This is either funny or awesome, or both. Pick your poison, here. Miss Rabbit swims around as the narrator says the title card. Listen, I don't like the Miss Rabbit multiple jobs angle, but her being a mermaid is one job I don't mind being myself or her. At least this one helps her physical fittness and mental fitness unlike most of the other jobs she provides. Peppa and George are cheering and going stage left as the blue fish and rainbow fish arrive. Evie suddenly gives an elf because she has the 0.3 Rock Lobster Yeti face on. The narrator claims that Evie is having a hard time keeping up, and that's why she's frustrated. Makes sense to me. Miss Rabbit is doing underwater stunt swimming with the schools of fish mimicking their moves. Peppa says in an amazing voice that mermaids are amazing as Miss Rabbit's jumping onto the ladder above the tank is funny. Daddy claps as Miss Rabbit thanks the audience as Mummy Pig apologizes to Evie, who is mimicking the movements of Miss Rabbit. I think she wants to be a mermaid judging by her movements and I would love to see that even if BS&P probably won't allow it. Evie now raspberries and that makes Miss Rabbit giggle. Miss Rabbit thinks Evie is a great mermaid and then slides down the slide. This only makes Evie even more agitated. Peppa then whispers into Mummy's ear as Peppa has a plan. Sadly, she does not say that like Mimi from "What About Mimi?!" as Mummy Pig gets Evie out of the stroller and now Evie is happy and kicking her feet. Even before Peppa says a word, Evie knows where this is going. However, there is one way to get this moment to pass muster with BS&P: Have it done in the imagination world!
That's what they do here as Peppa and Evie become mermaids and swim in the water, figurally speaking. I know it's the imagination world because when Evie jumps out of the water, she is outside on a lovely sunny day at the ocean. Mummy Pig is guiding Evie in the real world as the connection to the imagination world as we cross between both worlds for a while to kill time in a three minute episode. Seahorses arrive which I bet are cosplayed by Daddy and George Pig. I check the video...Nope, they are the seahorses in the tank in the real world. Sad me, Daddy and George cosplaying seahorses would have been money! A giant turtle arrives for Peppa to wave to, along with a blue giant dolphin who does the swear sound from Spongebob SquarePants, and an legit octopus with sea shells. It looks like Peppa's art style with the sea monster in "It Came Beneath The SeaDuck", whom is cosplayed by George in reality (no, not really). Everyone leaves the aquarium as we get a shot in the imagination world of Evie and Peppa as mermaids sitting on a rock staring with the sun setting on the seabound coast. I would sing the Nova Scotia shanty here, but that song is way too dark for this pre-school show, so I won't. Peppa and Evie hold hands as the family is at a table having lemonade and cupcakes as Peppa offers George to join them as well. George sips his lemonade with the look to say that "I'll think about it". We zoom out to see Mummy Pig eating a cupcake, Daddy Pig sipping tea and the narrator saying it all. The background of the sunset is a great touch as Miss Rabbit comes in cosplaying a naughty crab. HAHA! Pinching occurs in five minutes depending on Miss Rabbit's walk speed to end the episode at 3:03. This episode was awesome and really Angela Salt's first great episode! Evie's frustration had impact because she doesn't give an elf half of the time and the imagination world scenes were extremely well done and logical. **** 1/4 (85%).
Security Room: Short opens at the department store as Daddy Pig is kicking a soccer ball while George looks on since the FIFA World Cup is happening right as I was typing this. Lots of head butting of soccer balls ensue as Mummy Pig and Peppa Pig are looking for stuff in the sports clothing store, while the narrator is explaining the obvious to us. Daddy Pig's counting needs some work, as well as his knee skills because he knocks over a wooden hanger containing a sports jersey. Daddy Pig is screwed because if you break it, you buy it. Wait, so is it the jersey or the wooden hanger?! I assure you that the hanger costs less than the jersey as we zoom out to see Miss Rabbit playing security cop on the PA system. There are eight monitors as one of them has a cameo of Gigi Gazelle, proving that she is not a Juralian Alien. Still doesn't prove she's a vampire though, but that does narrow it down a bit. There is another guy in a salmon suit, but I have zero clue who it is. Daddy Pig fixes the rack and puts the soccer ball into the bin while apologizing. Daddy Pig takes George and now we get the stupidiest angle of all time: Somehow, Daddy and Mummy cannot find each other in the shopping mall. Okay, the angle itself is fine since both kids are supervised by the parents; but how can Daddy and Mummy NOT notice each other right from the start. This is GEEKS OF THE WEEK~ material here. Thankfully, Peppa finds them before any damage can be done, using the jeserys to create a shock. Peppa and George hug each other and Evie don't care. Mummy Pig proclaims that if you ever get lost, you stay calm and ask for someone to help and George gets it. I wonder where this is going?! 2:1 odds he'll be in Miss Rabbit's security room when this episode is done. We start with George getting distracted by long neck dinosaur toys. George is already lost because the rest of the family are in the most fragile area of the store, the ceramic dish area. Miss Rabbit leaves before she can start eating a bag of potato chips as Daddy Pig is a lot less paniky than Mummy Pig is. Mummy Pig is blushing and panicky, even though SHE'S the one who told George to stay calm and not panic. Mummy Pig is our GEEK OF THE WEEK~! Even better, Evie is so happy looking at her and I howled with laughter. Evie does not give a fuck. Mummy Pig is screaming for George off-screen, even Peppa was worried of Mummy Pig's well being. Daddy Pig is searching for George with the telescope and almost bumps Mummy Pig with a hip check. Peppa is calling for George and is the calmest piggie in the room...besides Evie of course...
And as we jump cut to George meeting Miss Rabbit, the narrator basically admits that George is doing better than everyone, besides Evie of course. HAHA! The security room is next to the costume room, which contains a star costume. Miss Rabbit pets George on the nose and they both enter the security room, which means I win $20 from myself. Mr. Bull appears on the camera in the sports room while Gigi Gazelle is still looking for hats and shoes. Also cameoing is Officer Panda, and this show no longer hates his kids. George sits on the lavander chair amusing himself, just to make everyone except Evie look like geeks. Mr. Bull is still a moron because he still cannot stay away from fragile objects. Officer Panda apparently busted the ice cream machines for all the wrong reasons. Hey, I'll take that over the real police, it's just a bunch of machines, they can be replaced. Wah-wah sounds ensue as George is giggling, and then in comes Peppa in the fragile area of doom. The rest of the family shows up as George does his dinosaur promo of doom and it has lost it's charm, sadly. He should be trolling them on purpose with mispronouncations, just for the hell of it. The family hugs as Miss Rabbit proclaims that she found George and is safe. He's more than safe, he's okay. Which is more than I can say for the rest of the family...besides Evie, of course. Because there is the next problem: Finding the security room. Even Daddy Pig doesn't know, so Peppa asks for directions from Miss Rabbit on camera and that's exactly what Miss Rabbit gives. Okay, who is this man with the lavander suit?! He's getting more screen time on this episode than even Gigi Gazelle! Mr. Bull is still a fool, Miss Rabbit shares potato chips with George in the room for a while. George roars and Mummy Pig thinks he's hiding in the conveniently placed dinosaur costume just to bury her even further into the earth. Mummy Pig deserves to be trolled for life by George after that one. Evie is Evie as usual as Daddy Pig and Peppa Pig enter the security room and that is that. Peppa and George hug each other, Daddy Pig says he's glad they didn't panic, while pushing a button to rewind to them panicking on screen. Because you see, Daddy Pig has to be dumb. Miss Rabbit's look on that one was priceless: "You just had to bury yourself and not leave Mummy Pig alone." Daddy Pig thanks Miss Rabbit and Miss Rabbit is humble. But wait, Mummy Pig cannot find anyone even though she's in the area where the security room is. Wow, did someone decide to switch Daddy Pig's dumbness this time?! Anyhow, the narrator says it all as Peppa Pig does the best acting job on the microphone to end the episode at 3:07. Okay, this episode was stupid, but it was funny and that's all that counts. *** 1/2 (70%).
Doughnut Factory: Short opens in the most absurd way possible: Miss Rabbit flying a rocket doughnut ship with the Pig family with a doughnut background loaded with color and sprinkles. Even the narrator is confused and so am I. But wait?! It's basically in the imagination world because they are inside the doughnut bus because this doughnut factory is much larger than most factories. Mummy Pig is cosplaying Quack Quack with Evie during this as we head to inside the first level of the factory. Then they get off the bus off-screen and the tour begins just like that. This is basically every demonstration of a factory you ever saw on Peppa Pig, I might as well watch How It's Made instead. The kids are amused, I'm just tired of this angle. It's not a bad idea for a pre-school show since education is a plus for this show, but again; the story is the same and it's not good enough anymore. George wants to go faster, which Miss Rabbit protests and George unintentionally bonks into the lever (CLEVER CLOGS~!) and the machine goes faster. By the way, this is what a fascist wants to be (the lever of power), only it wants to replace reality (which is the real lever of power), so that's why it hates reality and wants to kill it. See, writer of the Holy Bible. Dough flies and splats onto Miss Rabbit's clothes and Daddy Pig blushes while apologizing. Mummy Pig blushes while she doesn't. Miss Rabbit's a good sport as she has a cloth, but with the magic of teleporatation, it is gone. SUZY SHEEP~?! Scene changer ensues as we see the family and Miss Rabbit at two red fridges containing doughnut. This is where they rest the dough, although in baking, it's really letting the yeast in doughnuts to rise. Evie then gets bored and falls asleep. HAHA! Even Evie knew that this is boring and it was intentional because there was a "wah-wah" sound in the background. Peppa asks when does this start, I would ask when does this end, since it's already started. Miss Rabbit thankfully points out that it's already started as the dough rises literally within seconds. Now that's a SUZY SHEEP~ moment!
Everyone then puts on aprons and chef's hat as I wonder why Miss Rabbit didn't wear any of these at the start. This is sad when Miss Rabbit doesn't know what to do properly anymore. Next up is the icing station, which Miss Rabbit says in a slightly overdramatic fashion. She wishes she was Teddy Long yelling "The Undertaker". Miss Rabbit calls George patient, and George pushes buttons not realizing that timing is very important, and makes a mess on the conveyer belt, AGAIN~! Peppa protests this, but she's fine. Daddy Pig gets splooshed with yellow icing. Listen, Daddy Pig is dumb, but he's not a coward! Mummy Pig was prepared for this because she's behind Daddy Pig and the stroller is turned around to make sure Evie never comes even close to it. George is blushing as Daddy Pig is cleaning himself off screen. Miss Rabbit: Less is more. Pure fatalism to the "big number good, small number bad" crowd which is mostly capitalists and gas guzzlers. Perfect for Nintendo, except for Switch 1's curation. Then Daddy Pig cleans his face on-screen anyway, and we scene change to the sprinkle station as Peppa Pig is first and does a good decent job moving the wheel. Next up is George and he's deep in thought as Miss Rabbit reminds him that less is more. Peppa is giving him a pep talk as George pushes the wheel to the left a little tiny bit, and one sprinkle lands on a doughnut. Then a slightly larger push and the doughnut is sprinkled properly. Everyone cheers as we still have thirty seconds left, as we scene change to a table where everyone has a finished dougnut and it's time to decorate their doughnuts. With custom icing, gummy raspberries and gummy blackberries. I refuse to believe real fruit is used here. Evie is playing with Quack Quack and doesn't care at all and still is wearing a chef's hat. The family loves their doughnuts, Evie loves Quack Quack to be a life preserver for Mummy Pig's doughnuts, even Daddy Pig is amused by this, wah-wah! George decides that less is truly more and he just eats his as it is. The narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:05. Just your average Peppa Pig Tales/How It's Made crossover. ** 1/2 (50%).
Opening Moment #1: LEGO DUPLO Peppa is back~! That's all you need to know and this opening uses the "Let's Jump In!" opening with LEGO.
Scavenger Hunt: Short opens with Peppa and George walking down a dirt path through the most boring forest made of Lego. The narrator then wonders if Peppa and George even know what they are doing here. Answer: They don't. Peppa is calling for Daddy Pig and he's hiding behind the tree. He giggles and then jumps in to give the kids a shock. The kids all laugh as Daddy Pig is on his ass, then Peppa discovers a yellow treasure map in the bushes, using a yellow block which contains a picture of a ladybug. The map seems to be a river route to a lake containing a canoe and a campsite. Daddy Pig calls this a lead to a mystery adventure and I can safely say that this is a new episode using Lego Duplo blocks instead of an episode left over because George is clearly showing his hearing aid, albeit it's all grey now. It's only for brave little piggies and this is like a dare to the little piggies and the kids all cheer. Daddy Pig takes it as accepting the terms and we are off to find something, I don't know. Adventure or camping?! Or both?! Let's find out. George has a "like father, like son" moment as he reads the map upside down during this and then puts the map down and runs off. Peppa if calling him back. However, despite reading the map upside down, he still finds the ladybird on the flower and I have zero clue what George yelled when he found it. You can tell they are doing stop motion animation when the ladybird is wiggling during this. Oh, and Daddy Pig's camera is the biggest, bloodiest camera LEGO could have built. Yes, the picture is made from a block, why do you ask?! Peppa then checks the map some more and finds the really big tree, and that leads to the scene changer for more walking. Peppa then stops and declare this impossible, right after the narrator calls this tricky. Hint: If this tree is taller than all the other trees, you found the tree.
Second "like father, like son" moment: George sits on his ass groaning. Daddy Pig does his pep talk as Peppa wants to climb on Daddy Pig's back, and Daddy Pig complies. Peppa spots the giant tree, which looks nothing like the tree on the map. Nevertheless, it counts and picutre is taken. SUZY SHEEP~?! Peppa checks the map and discovers that the next clue is the river with the canoe and George yanks two bush bricks away to reveal the river and the canoe despite the canoe being in the lake on the map. SUZY SHEEP~?! Suzy Sheep had to have drawn this map, there's no other logical explaination. Daddy Pig takes the picture and this one contains the picture of Team Pig wearing lifejackets on the canoe with a paddle! Again, why didn't the creators of this show go back to every episode involving lifejackets and apply them to the adults?! Anyhow, we scene change to the campsite at sunset as Peppa is checking the map and Daddy Pig is beside the conveniently placed tent. Now, Daddy Pig is acting dumb here, he's not dumb because he sounds sarcastic. When you hear someone say "God loves you", or "God loves me"; check their voice infliction. It's more often than not disgust and it's not just targetted at you or me. Or even just themselves in projecting fashion. They found the tent and Peppa and George run in circles around the unlit campfire, cheering. George checks the map again as Peppa asks where the adventure was, and Daddy Pig shows off the pictures of spots they did during the adventure. The kids all cheer as we scene change to AFTER HAPPY HOUR (after dark) with the family drinking tomato soup from bowls while sitting down at the most LED fire ever concieved, which is funny. They watch the skies with shooting stars and the moon while the narrator says it all to end the episode at 3:07. A perfectly acceptable cartooning episode with a few logic breaks, which were not caused by the limitations of LEGO this time. *** 1/4 (65%).
Playhouse For Evie: Short opens inside the infamous DADDY'S BIG TUMMY~ playhouse on a tree! Yes, that structure that has the body shaming password is back! We head inside with Peppa and George zapping each other with flashlights. We hear a knock on the door and Peppa answers it to reveal Daddy Pig showing off Evie. Peppa just allows Evie to come in without a password, which Daddy Pig sadly must overrule it. Evie just smiles and doesn't give an elf. Peppa is not happy anyway and wishes for Evie to have her own playhouse. Well, you can cosplay it in the imagination world, like you did with Evie on the mermaids, which led to a finish so awesome that I referenced "Farewell to Nova Scotia" for crying out loud. Daddy Pig does have a plan to be creative as he runs into the house with Evie, as if Evie needs a diaper change, that was funny. Daddy Pig runs back and remembers to kiss Mummy Pig on the ear on the way out. Also funny. Daddy Pig has blueprints and he somehow managed to change into construction gear, which somehow apply to everyone including Evie. SUZY SHEEP~?! Evie is in the baby seat and she cares even less than George did in the early season episodes of Peppa Pig. Daddy Pig shows off the blueprints and off we go with the montage! Peppa and George are seesawing off a plank is funny while Daddy Pig does all the work. Yup, Peppa, George and Evie are drinking orange juice sitting on the job. Also funny. Painting also looks like George and Peppa cannot paint to save their lives nor their brains. Anyhow, Daddy Pig looks at the blueprints and it's done as somehow, the ducks on water is done perfectly. I do not buy this, so SUZY SHEEP~?! Daddy Pig calls this top-quality pigsmanship. I can buy that as Daddy Pig opens the roof and Evie is placed inside in his baby chair being Evie of course. Peppa and George enter with pillows and blankets.
Time to play torch tag and now we have a problem: Evie cannot run away because she's in her seat, and Daddy Pig realizes that he must get involved. HAHA! Yup, Daddy Pig didn't think his cunning plan through and he's the GEEK OF THE WEEK~! The kids still decide to play torch tag between themselves and muse themselves because it's no fun having Evie involved since she cannot defend herself. Then they decide to try the game on Evie, and Daddy Pig tries to play it; but Daddy Pig is out of shape and his noodle arms do not impress Evie, and she frowns and throws a raspberry. She does not like this game. Daddy Pig takes Evie out of the playhouse as Peppa and George leave sighing while sitting down. In comes Mummy Pig hanging clothes on the conveniently placed line in the background, holding a red shirt. Peppa and Mummy Pig exchange notes on the situation as Mummy Pig tells them to be creative. Okay, to me, cosplaying this in the imagination world makes perfect sense since it would help poor Daddy Pig's arms here since he only have to hold Evie, and let their imaginations take over. Daddy Pig calls Mummy Pig a genius and kisses her...AGAIN! Daddy Pig runs into the house and then we scene change to inside the playhouse as Evie is now in her babyseat being lifted by a pully system as two flashlights are taped to the baby seat. Okay, this is neat; but I would use two ropes for the pulleys to stablize the seat because this could easily topple over. Evie is not small anymore in storyline, you see. Peppa, George and Evie are playing with flashlights for fun as Daddy Pig is sweating like a hog and cannot drink any water since his hands are not free. But wait, Mummy Pig has a solution: It's the sippy helemt of doom~! Nice one, Mummy Pig, nice one. Daddy Pig sips water as we play along with the narrator saying it all to end the episode at 2:58. Wow, I was expecting a funny ending, but it stopped short here. Fun little episode as usual. *** 1/2 (70%).
THE REVIEW LINE
Well, this was mostly a set of fine to fun episodes, although Baby Evie At The Aquarium was a great episode for me as Peppa and Evie cosplaying mermaids in the imagination world was glorious and I got to cross off "Reference a Nova Scotia sea shanty in the rant" off my bucket list of stuff no one cares about, but me. Yes, I did play the song in it's full bloom while freeze-framing a shot of Peppa and Evie as mermaids on a rock on the seabound coast, why do you ask?! Also had a funny ending with Miss Rabbit playing a naughty crab, too. Also, a great episode from Angela Salt as well. I cannot say anymore, because the rest of them was the usual stuff from the Pigs who love muddy puddles since 2004! Oh, and a decent LEGO Duplo episode as well, the first one in the post Evie, post George hearing aid era. So...
Thumbs up for Baby Evie At The Aquarium. Thumbs in the middle for the rest, and I'll see you all next time.
