More Like Kit And Molly Transcending History & The World!

Believe it or not; Legend of The Chaos God and the new Ducktales series was not the first time they did a crossover of worlds with TaleSpin. In fact, this was not only a crossover where the twain actually meets. However, it was shown on television, unlike the comics and unlike Ducktales 2017: Baloo and Rebecca did in fact cross over. DTVA did a series of public service announcements for certain holidays during the early 1990's featuring Disney Afternoon characters. TaleSpin had THREE of these, one that only features TaleSpin characters for Thanksgiving, and the other two were for Halloween and Christmas and crossed over with Darkwing Duck and Ducktales characters. Kit, Baloo and Molly have appeared in all three of them, with Rebecca appearing in two of the three, meeting Gosalyn, Honker and Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck twice, and Huey, Dewey, Louie, Launchpad, and Scrooge once. So, the bears got around pretty well. (2025 Gregory Weagle Says: Kit Cloudkicker and Molly Cunningham are the only two DTVA characters to appear with Ducktales and Darkwing Duck characters as both kids and adults. Considering that no one ever thought Kit and Molly would ever come back considering Don Karnage's popularity, that is a remarkable feat.) Sadly, I have no footage of the Thanksgiving PSA; other than that Kit is thankful for family and Molly is thankful that it's Kit's turn to do the dishes; causing everyone to laugh. It is what it is. The Halloween promo was released in 1992; while the Christmas promo was released in 1991. WillSantanaFilms is responsible for the PSA's being on Youtube and while these are thirty seconds long, they contain some really funny moments; especially the Christmas promo where Kit Cloudkicker cements my theory that he has to be a god. You'll see why when I get there.

I have zero credits for any of this. My theory is that Wang Films did all the animation; but don't take it as the ever loving truth just yet.

Halloween PSA or "Darkwing Duck Meets the Mayor of Cape Suzette!": PSA opens with a shot of a jack-o-lantern on a post in front of a house. We zoom out to the streets of I believe a sub-urban area with Morgana and at least two of her family members from the Darkwing Duck series as a cameo. One of the kids looks like a penguin. Pan east to a sidewalk with Drake Mallard as DARKWING...DUCK, DUH~! Gosalyn I think is dressed up like Bug Man and Honker's costume is a stereotypical Indian. I never liked the selection of costumes in this. Drake's makes sense, Gosalyn's is all right, although they already have superhero costumes Quiverwing Quack and Arrow Kid for Honker, which are far less problematic in Honker's case. Also; the narrator I believe is the late Gary Owens, as he cuts a promo about kids trick-or-treating with an adult present. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Of course! (Yeah, it's impossible to believe that line considering Gosalyn and Kit Cloudkicker's own pasts, not to mention Molly being a troublesome little kid in her own right in "The Incredible Shrinking Molly".) Gosalyn is giddy about seeing the Morgana family again as Morgana has somehow been written out by teleport. This probably scared Honker, or maybe he realizes that he is about to be cancelled and hopes it's not the Babyface Half-Nelson doing it. (Don't worry Honker, it's not Babyface Half-Nelson. You only have to be worried about either not being used anymore to make money or be turned into Baloo Mark II, which adult Kit Cloudkicker did and it was still awesome.) Drake tells him not to panic and then he panics because we cut to an alleyway as "Tuskernini" has bags of candy and is looking down at two bears..Wait a minute? That's fucking Kit Cloudkicker and Molly Cunningham isn't it?! Someone on Facebook claimed Molly was Sunni, which makes no sense since Gummi Bears was out of the rotation of Disney Afternoon at this point since this debuted in 1992. (Why would Sunni give Kit the time of day?! If it was Sunni, Cubbi would have been with her. Kind of puts the kobash on the Sunni theory right there. I don't see the Facebook commenter changing it's tune anytime soon. Sunni fan that seems gaslit.) The costumes for Kit and Molly are terrible here and it's even less excusable than the Darkwing Duck kids. Molly should be wearing her Danger Woman costume and that would have killed the Sunni Gummi crap outright, but she's wearing the same winter clothes she wore in the Christmas PSA which I'll be ranting on next. There's no excuse for that. Kit wearing the cowboy outfit has happened in A Star Is Torn, but; the creators only did that to create conflict between him and Honker. (Let's do a racist angle with these two and tar them both?!)

Kit's outfit could have been either Joe McGee's pilot outfit from Old Man & The SeaDuck or future Della Duck's outfit from Ducktales 2017; or even Kit Secord's Halloween costume from The Rocketeer or the pirate captain's outfit from Captains Outrageous. (Especially the pirate outfit since Kit was an ex-pirate and him wearing it to give the middle finger to Don Karnage was hilarious.) Drake of course is gaslit, Gosalyn realizes that it's Kit and Molly and tries to stop Drake, but it's too late. (Anyone who wonders why I call Drake Mallard really stupid: When the child knows what is going on. Drake Mallard is not a good father and Baloo's a better friend than Drake is.) The fact that Kit covered his face with his hands was proof that he knew the guy with the candy was not Tuskernini. Drake puts the gas gun to "Tuskernini"'s back and tells him to suck gas. "Tuskernini" turns around, unmasks to reveal...Baloo Von Bruinwald XIII. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! This was brilliant because in the TaleSpin world, the mayor of Cape Suzette who appeared in The Golden Sprocket of Friendship and Last Horizons looks similar to Tuskernini! (Despite all the stupidity of the costumes, Baloo's costume was completely on point here.) Therefore, it explains why Baloo was wearing the costume and in a way is understandable as a folk devil to Baloo, since Baloo was called a traitor by the mayor in Last Horizons. Last Horizons is not available on Disney+, but was on iTunes and the uncut episode is on DVD. I wish Baloo would have just punched Drake in the face for losing the bags of candy as the kids were smiling just before Baloo took the mask off. They were in on the whole thing and I think Gosalyn and Honker were as well, but Drake certainly wasn't. (Because Drake is an idiot.) Baloo tells Drake chill out and calls Drake a "Duck Guy"; and praises his costume. Drake stammers and claims that he knew that; and it's much more awkward than Baloo saying "I meant to do that" in Bullethead Baloo. The kids and man child laugh at Drake's expense, which will never cease to be funny, although sadly, R.J. Williams and Janna Michaels' were not doing voice acting at this point. Cut to the pumpkin on the bottom left side showing the Disney Afternoon logo and Happy Halloween as the place appears to be in a rural village with a water tower and bats flying. Still works fine as the narrator cuts the promo to end the PSA. Bad fashion sense and offensive costume aside, the joke of Baloo as Tuskernini works so well that I was laughing my ass off. *** 1/2 (70%).

As brilliant as this was; the Christmas one is much, much more savage as they say. Oh, and PUFFINSTUDIOS on Deviant Art has a much darker take on this very scene, in a "gun control" political message thingy that Frank Agones would have been proud of. (Again, Kit and Molly are grateful that this showrunner hates guns on children's television, realism be damned! Enough is enough and it's time for a change!) Check that one out too! (I think that user is terminated and everything has gone down the memory hole. The internet never forgets...until you tell it to.)

Christmas PSA or "The Gaslighting God of Cloudkicking!": This PSA aired in 1991 before the Halloween one, but screw dates; this one is the best one of the lot. (Maybe I should switch the...Nah?! Not worth the time.) Why? Well...PSA opens in the backyard area of McDuck Manor as Drake Mallard in a Santa outfit is pushing the sleigh up toward the cliff. I have heard of mangling metaphors; but he literally mixed "Deck The Halls" and "Jingle Bells" here. Wonder if BS&P stepped in here? Did they think bows of holly was too religious/too much bathroom humor? (My guess is that they really thought the line was funny. Maybe it was, but trying to mix metaphor with certain content is sometimes a sign of standards and practices.) The sleigh is filled with sacks of toys as we pan over to the backyard of McDuck Manor as Huey, Dewey, Louie, Gosalyn, Honker, Molly and Kit (on his airfoil no less) are decorating the tree. There is a baseball as a decoration as the kids are having fun and Kit notices that Santa's sleigh is here. Kit Cloudkicker is the biggest heel of this entire PSA in so many ways. Heel moment #1: He manages to gaslight everyone into believing that Santa is here, even Molly, who in A Jolly Molly Christmas stopped believing in Santa after it was revealed that the "Santa" is Louie. (Yeah, this is one problem with this PSA: You also have to ignore that there is no evidence in the episode that it was Santa who made it snow in Cape Suzette. It could have been a freak weather storm which happens a lot more than you think even in a world of Human Global Fuckery. Heck, even the stupid "God did it" at least can work in the TaleSpin world, because, the world is just as ficitional as the one in the bible.) There is almost no difference here: "Santa" is Drake Mallard is the only change. This is enough for everyone to run up the hill causing Drake to panic and hide behind the sleigh. Heel moment #2: Kit himself didn't run; he LITERALLY FLEW UP ON HIS AIRFOIL AND LANDED IN THE SLEIGH and even helped Molly up into the sleigh, being the first one to the sleigh. There is no way anyone can do that even in that world, much less the real one.

Anyone who wonders why I consider Kit to be a god needs to watch stuff like this. (This is one of those logic break that even Suzy Sheep would be totally speechless.) Although he shows his generous side and lets three kids get into the sleigh before he gets in. Gosalyn finds a jack in the box; and this is enough for the sleigh to slide down the hill...and Kit does heel moment #3: Hang onto the sleigh with his legs stretched out; and Honker decides to join him in sympathy. Aw! My heart melted! The sleigh crashes into the tree, everyone is in the snow as Kit and Honker probably suffered concussions. (Okay, you are really trying way too hard to make everyone think you can cut Kit down to size anytime you want to. You are just making everyone else think you are deflecting the fact that you hate Drake and Baloo former self.) Drake runs in and consoles Gosalyn as Gosalyn apologizes for everyone, despite the fact that this was all Kit's fault! Kit's a tiny adult, he can take responsibility for himself, dammit! (Kit is not an adult, he's a child you thinks better than most adults.) Drake is about to do something; but the Christmas lights and Santa ho-ing, the real Santa I might add. This also adds evidence that Jolly Molly Christmas was hijacked by Jesus as Baloo (wearing Joe McGee's scarf), Rebecca, Scrooge (sans top hat) and Launchpad all arrive to watch the lights. One more Kit thing...look at the kids and the adults designs in outfits; they look wintery or use a Christmas theme. Now, look at what Kit is wearing: He's wearing his regular outfit! I realize that Kit's outfit uses Christmas-equse colors; but you couldn't have him wear an ugly sweater just for this moment? Ugly sweater on Kit would be apporos and many buys! This only cements the theory that he is a poor widdle orphan with no money, despite living with his new found family, who have money for new clothes! (Peppa Pig: Or he's uncreative. Ouch.) It turns out that Santa gave them a new tree and presents as the payoff as the narration (who is not Gary Owens this time) cuts a promo as we see a silver ornament with Happy Holidays, which of course will gaslight the "War on Christmas" crowd big time as usual. This was localized by MITV, a Halifax, Nova Scotia channel now known as Global Television. This ends the PSA. I love this one a lot more than the Halloween one, and even the Thanksgiving PSA since it was Kit Cloudkicker being a sneaky little adult heel and never having to say it's sorry since "Gosalyn the Gaslit" is there to do it for him. ***** (100%)

THE REVIEW LINE

It's kind of sad that I wasn't able to review the Thanksgiving PSA, because I loved that one, mostly for the punchline said by Molly. Kit is a hard worker even as his age and size, so Molly isn't insulting anyone with that. (Max or Gosalyn might take offense to that for various reasons, but Kit doesn't.) The Halloween one would have been a thumbs up if the selection of costumes for the kids was much better, considering that they had costumes that fit the characters perfectly and the artists decided to create a cowboy and Indian stereotype between two kids that have zero heat on each other. I mean, Molly is Danger Woman for goodness sake and the artists just used the same outfit from the Christmas PSA? That is stupid! (Especially since there is lots of materials from the Disney vault that could have helped them. This is why some people believe that it's dangerous to reboot shows.) The Christmas PSA has to be seen to be believed: Kit is both the best and most heelish guy in the entire PSA, just wrecking havoc on poor Drake Mallard. Overall; these PSA's were good and I hope Kit and Molly show off Kit's gaslighting heel side in Ducktales 2020 and drive Scrooge McDuck nuts for looking down at him as a poor person. So...

Thumbs in the middle for the Halloween PSA, thumbs up for the Thanksgiving (I don't care if I didn't review it, it was **** at least.) and Christmas PSA's. I'll see you all next time.
